CM Punk contract: details of former Paul Heyman guy’s deal with WWE

Yesterday, Chicago’s Allstate Arena was shaking with chants of CM Punk as the Second City Saint made a spectacular return to WWE after the main event of Survivor Series WarGames 2023. However, Punk’s comeback information was kept firmly under wraps by WWE.

Not just the fans, many WWE superstars were also surprised by his appearance. Just moments after Punk’s return to WWE, a PWInsider provided insight on Punk’s new WWE contract and also reported how his return was planned.

Details of CM Punk’s WWE contract

In the closing moments of WWE Survivor Series WarGames 2023, CM Punk made a surprising comeback to the promotion that he hated the most because it did not give him what he deserved. The fans present in the arena went crazy with the sudden appearance of the Second City Saint.

After his return, many fans were baffled, as WWE didn’t give any information about his return; instead, they denied the rumors of Punk’s return. According to a recent report by PWInsider, the talks that initialized Punk’s return only began last week after the hype escalated to the maximum level, and the deal itself was made official on Saturday before the show by the creative team of WWE.The report also mentioned discussions about delaying his return until next year’s Royal Rumble.

However, WWE decided that the longer they waited, the higher the chance of leaks, so they opted to go ahead with his return. Regarding CM Punk’s future in WWE, reports suggest he will be wrestling, but his schedule may not be full-time like other superstars. Currently, there is no official confirmation of Punk’s schedule. WWE has not officially disclosed Punk’s contract details, so the validity of the Insider’s claim remains unconfirmed.

Triple H on CM Punk’s deal

At the post-show press conference of WWE Survivor Series WarGames 2023, the CCO of WWE, Triple H, discussed CM Punk’s return to the Stamford-based promotion and how long it took for both sides to join hands, setting aside the past differences.

Punk made one of the greatest comebacks in the history of WWE by surprising the fans attending the Survivor Series in his hometown of Chicago. The crowd was excited to see The Voice of the Voiceless make a return to WWE.

After the show ended, Triple H spoke about Punk’s comeback to WWE at the post-show press conference and revealed that the deal came together much more quickly than anyone could have expected.

“This was one of those lightning-in-a-bottle moments that came together very quickly. But we are incredibly excited about it. In some ways, it’s been a long time coming. You can say this about CM Punk: love him or hate him, positive or negative, whatever you want to say, people talk about him all the time. He’s a magnet for that, a conversation starter, and it’s tough to look past that. And for me, if our fans want it, if the WWE Universe is excited to have it, then let’s go.” said Triple H.

He even admitted that initially, everything related to CM Punk’s return was just some rumors until everyone started talking about it, and suddenly it was confirmed.

He said, “And we’ll figure out the rest of it from there. This came together super quick, which I’m sure is why it stayed very tight. There was a lot of speculation at that point; it was nothing but speculation, and most of the time it was speculation. It didn’t come to fruition until everybody stopped thinking it was going to happen. And then, all of a sudden, it was happening.”
