After the NXT Deadline event ended, CM Punk surprised his fans by sharing a picture of two young NXT superstars, humorously claiming that they were his and his wife AJ Lee’s children. On the August 25, 2023, episode of NXT, Cora Jade participated in a Kendo Stick match against Dana Brooke.
Following the match, Cora Jade was absent from WWE television for several months but made a triumphant return at the Deadline event on NXT. During the event, she had a heartwarming reunion with her idol, CM Punk, who offered her some valuable advice.
CM Punk shares picture of his “children”
CM Punk made an appearance on both Monday Night Raw and Friday Night SmackDown before appearing on NXT at the Deadline 2023 event. During a backstage segment, Punk met Cora Jade and Roxanne Perez.
Jade had made her return to NXT at the Deadline event after several months of absence. Meanwhile, Perez was competing against Kiana James in a steel cage match at the Deadline event.
Taking to Instagram, Punk shared a backstage photo with Cora Jade and Roxanne Perez, who are bitter rivals on screen. The female duo of NXT previously held the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship before Jade betrayed her long-time friend.
“Here is a picture of me with all my and @theajmendez children,” wrote CM Punk in that story.
Punk provides encouragement to Cora Jade
During last night’s NXT Deadline event, CM Punk made an appearance in the ring with WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels, who is in charge of NXT. The two took a selfie together, and Punk teased signing with NXT instead of joining Raw or SmackDown on the main roster.
The event marked the return of the emerging young female talent, Cora Jade, who assaulted the reigning NXT Women’s Champion, Lyra Valkyria. A viral video depicting a young Jade, from years before joining the WWE Universe, meeting The Second City Saint and becoming emotional about the encounter, has recently circulated on social media.
During a backstage interview with Cora Jade, Punk expressed his pride in her journey within the wrestling world. While Punk didn’t mention Jade by name during his appearance on WWE NXT Deadline, he did acknowledge that some wrestlers backstage talked about growing up watching him in the ring. Later, an exclusive backstage clip of Punk and Jade was uploaded by WWE on Twitter.
