It doesn’t matter if CM Punk is out with an injury; his popularity on the internet never fades. Every time his participation is announced, there is an immediate rise in excitement and ticket sales. The WWE draft during Friday Night SmackDown just saw a jump in attendance, which was the latest proof of that. However, after the first night, his beloved fans were shocked to learn that he was watching the event from behind the crowd.
The 2024 WWE Draft has begun, and fans have already started to enjoy the two nights of RAW and SmackDown packed with high-octane emotion. Making things even more exciting, CM Punk, also known as “The Best in the World,” was set to appear both nights, following his involvement in WWE around WrestleMania 40 despite nursing a triceps injury.
Though CM Punk had been in the ads leading up to the WWE Draft, he was noticeably absent from on-screen during the first-night event. But the fun point is that he was present at the event and some fans noticed him from a backstage exit. No official statement has come from CM Punk on his absence from the first night of the WWE Draft.
Many were disappointed that CM Punk did not appear, particularly those who were hoping for news on his rivalry with Drew McIntyre. Not to mention that the Sin City Siant has been in a number of feuds lately. Despite all this, one relationship seems to be clean, as stated recently by the Intercontinental Champion.
Sami Zayn opens up about his relationship with CM Punk
Although CM Punk has a reputation for getting into arguments with people, it seems that his relationship with Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn is different. Gorilla Position just interviewed Sami Zayn, and Zayn discussed his connection to CM Punk. He did acknowledge that they had a falling out at one point, but confirmed they’ve since cleared the air.
As transcribed by PWMania, Sami emphasized, “I’ve known him for a very long time. There’s been some ups, there’s been some downs. He showed up and I was like, ‘I just don’t want this to be weird. Say whatever you need to say.’ He said his peace, I said my peace. Clean slate. That’s it.”
