CM Punk takes sly dig at Seth Rollins following WWE World Heavyweight Champion’s fiery rant

After being absent from the WWE for nine years, CM Punk recently returned to the SmackDown ring. Upon his arrival, he wasted no time in targeting some of the biggest names in the promotion, including Roman Reigns and Kevin Owens.

In the previous episode of Raw, Punk explicitly stated that his sole intention in WWE was to earn money, not to form any friendships. In the latest episode of SmackDown, he stayed true to his word by verbally attacking some of the promotion’s biggest names, with a particular focus on Rollins.

CM Punk slams Seth Rollins

On the latest episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown, wrestling legend CM Punk made his long-awaited return to the Blue Brand of WWE. The fans in the arena went wild after seeing the Second City Saint on SmackDown after almost nine years.

During his appearance, Punk delivered a powerful speech in which he praised and criticized several WWE superstars, including Cody Rhodes, Jey Uso, Kevin Owens, LA Knight, Roman Reigns, and Seth Rollins. However, earlier CM Punk expressed uncertainty about which brand of WWE he should join, Raw or SmackDown.

He then proceeded to suggest potential tag partners he could team up with to take on factions like The Bloodline. While acknowledging Roman Reigns’ success in WWE, Punk reminded The Tribal Chief that Paul Heyman was once his advisor before joining Reigns’ camp.

After that, The Second City Saint made a subtle jab at WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins. This was done on purpose, as Rollins was not pleased with Punk’s return to WWE at the Survivor Series WarGames 2023 event. While Punk did not mention Rollins by name, it was clear to everyone who the wrestler was that was unhappy with his return to the promotion.

“Everybody’s happy to see CM Punk, even JBL; everybody’s welcomed me back with open arms except for that one guy. There’s always that one bad apple that spoils the bunch, am I right? But I’m not going to put any stock in what he has to say, and it’s not because of his whiny voice; it’s because he’s not even ‘The Man’ in his own household. All he’s got is that song,” said CM Punk.

Seth Rollins talks about CM Punk’s return

Seth Rollins has been vocal about his opposition to CM Punk’s return to WWE since the beginning, and his anger towards Punk has been evident every time the topic arises. Despite the growing tension between the two, the reason behind Rollins’ animosity towards Punk remains unclear.

In a recent interview with “Sports Illustrated,” Seth Rollins discussed the possibility of working with CM Punk and revealed why he holds such a strong grudge against him. Although Rollins claims his hatred for CM Punk is personal, some fans believe it’s part of a build-up for a rivalry between them. Rollins also shared his thoughts on working with people he doesn’t necessarily like.

“He said some really bad things about me. Talked down about me for years, and the company for years. I’m talking about some really bad stuff. He called me a bootlicker and crap like that. You don’t know me. You don’t know what I stand for. I’m a loyal person, and I felt pretty insulted by a lot of the ways he treated me, treated the place I work for, and treated friends that I worked with,” said Seth Rollins.
