Cody Rhodes pins the Rock at WrestleMania 40”: former WWE champion provides his roadmap for Roman Reigns’ title reign

The American Nightmare Cody Rhodes was expected to headline WrestleMania 40 against Roman Reigns for the title, until the return of the People’s Champion, The Rock. Dwayne Johnson made his return to WWE last week and issued a challenge to Roman Reigns.

The Rock’s comeback is believed to change the original plans for Rhode’s WrestleMania match. Recently a WWE legend provided interesting plans for Rhodes to main event WrestleMania 40 for the WWE Undisputed Championship.

WWE legend fits Cody Rhodes in the Rock and Roman Reigns feud

In a recent interview on the Busted Open Radio, Bully Ray, a WWE Hall of Famer gave his idea for Cody Rhode’s Wrestlemania 40 match for the WWE Undisputed Championship.

Ray said, “The scenario is for the best interest of Cody. What if they leave the championship on Roman once again? They’ve been pissing the world off with keeping that championship on Roman. Let’s keep it going. Roman goes over at the Royal Rumble.”

Rey stated that If Reigns retains his Championship at Wrestlemania 40, the WWE Universe will be frustrated to see him again as the champion. He also said that Roman will retain his title at the Royal Rumble in a fatal four way match against LA Knight, Randy Orton and AJ styles.

Rey continued his prediction and said, “Cody wins the Rumble. Rock versus Roman at Elimination Chamber. Rock wins. Rock is your Universal champion. The match becomes Cody versus Roman versus The Rock at Wrestlemania.”

According to Rey, after WrestleMania 40, Roman Reigns and Randy Orton will feud with Rhodes for the title. He also predicted an alternative in which The Rock will win WrestleMania 40 and remain as the Champion. This would be a dream match for many fans, as The Rock is one of the biggest stars in WWE history and Reigns is the dominant force of the current era.

Cody Rhodes teases WrestleMania 40 match

On today’s episode of Monday Night RAW, Cody Rhodes faced Shinsuke Nakamura in a street fight. Both superstars used chairs and tables to brutally attack each other. In the end Rhodes emerged victorious by hitting a Cross Rhodes to Nakamura.

After today’s Raw episode, Cody Rhodes made a tweet by adding “Only 2 steps left. Believe.” Rhodes didn’t specify any details about the message but this is surely a hint for his dream to become the WWE Undisputed Champion at Wrestlemania 40.

As the tweet says, his first step is to win the 30 man Royal Rumble match on January 27 and his second step is to defeat Roman Reigns in the main event of WrestleMania 40 to become the champion. With Rhodes declared himself for the Rumble Match, he is on the top of the list to win the Rumble match and main event WrestleMania 40.
