Conor McGregor and Draymond Green, even though they participate in different sports, share a common skill – mastery of trash talk. Just as McGregor built his career using his trash-talking abilities alongside his fighting prowess, Green also harnessed this skill to carve his own legacy.
Interestingly, Green and McGregor engaged in a playful exchange of taunts leading up to McGregor’s highly anticipated bout with Floyd Mayweather Jr. As anticipated, it was the Irishman who excelled with his trash talk on social media, outwitting the maestro of the Golden State Warriors.
McGregor schooled Draymond
Conor McGregor, preluding his fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. engaged in a series of tactics to get in the undefeated professional boxer’s head. The Irishman did not have a clear win against the veteran of the combat sports game as Mayweather Jr. himself was an esteemed trash talker.
Incidentally, Draymond Green got in the way of Conor McGregor’s mind games on Mayweather Jr. McGregor was pictured wearing the jersey of Golden State Warriors with the jersey number 23, which was Draymond Green’s jersey number. Green commented beneath the post, “We rocking with Floyd bro…not you take that off bruh.”
Conor McGregor responded to the comment with two comments of his own. In the first comment, McGregor disregarded Green by saying he didn’t know him and explained that he was donning the jersey of CJ Watson, a point guard who played for the Warriors from 2008-2010.
Furthermore, McGregor roasted Green with yet another comment. He said that he doesn’t know or does not watch basketball and metaphorically explained his profession which is bouncing the heads of his opponent on canvas. He also suggested Green to go find who CJ Watson is
Reason behind McGregor rocking C.J. Watson jersey
The Reason behind McGregor rocking CJ Watson’s jersey was Watson’s association with Floyd Mayweather Jr. Watson did not have a direct association with McGregor but the indirect association was controversial and even led Mayweather behind bars.
CJ Watson had a relationship with Josie Harris when Harris was dating Mayweather Jr. Mayweather found out about the relationship which resulted in him assaulting Harris in front of his kids. Mayweather was found guilty of domestic violence resulting in jail time.
McGregor is a master of trash-talking. This is evident with him using the CJ Watson jersey to get in the head of Mayweather Jr. However, it did not matter as McGregor lost to the veteran boxer via TKO in round 10.
After the bout, McGregor again attracted controversy before and after UFC 229. McGregor’s trash-talking knew no bounds as he insulted Khabib Nurmagomedov severely. This caused Nurmagomedov to cause a post-fight melee resulting in suspensions for many.
