Conor McGregor’s worrisome interview raises concern among fans

Conor McGregor is arguably MMA’s biggest superstar but has not competed since he broke his leg in his trilogy fight with Dustin ‘The Diamond’ Poirier. However, the Irishman has been very busy in recent months with the promotion of his debut movie, ‘The Roadhouse.’

As part of the promotion, McGregor’s interview which also featured his Roadhouse co-star Jake Gyllenhaal has become the talk of the town. However, fight fans across the globe are concerned for McGregor’s well-being as he seemed his out of ease during the interview.

Conor McGregor’s debut movie, ‘Roadhouse’, was recently released on Prime Video, and McGregor’s performance as the antagonist received high praise from fans and critics alike. Even before the release, his interview for the promotion of the movie went viral as the Irishman showed discomfort as per Marca.

McGregor, who is always full of energy, looked drained in the interview. Moreover, he even twitched and shrugged a lot in the interview which fans alluded to possible cocaine usage. Even more than the allegations, fans were genuinely concerned for the Irishman.

“That’s just cocaine and meth side effect guys nothing to worry about..”, commented one fan. “Concerned for his addiction problem*”, another fan seconded the allegation. “I’m no doctor but this looks neurological”, commented yet another fan.

McGregor has long been accused of drug abuse ever since he became a controversial figure, particularly after his professional boxing debut against Floyd Mayweather Jr. However, there has not been any concrete proof available of his alleged drug use.

Conor McGregor accused of steroid abuse

Conor McGregor had a relatively quick road to recovery after he broke his leg. Moreover, he also pulled out of the USADA drug testing pool during his recovery which made many speculate that the Irishman used steroids to enhance his recovery.

Even UFC commentator Joe Rogan and other fighters in the promotion speculated that McGregor used steroids to recover. However, the Irishman has never tested positive for a banned substance ever in his career.

McGregor’s alleged steroid use even made the UFC split with the USADA and pen a deal with Drug-Free Sports International as the new anti-doping partner. With the new agency, McGregor is already the most tested athlete in the UFC. Moreover, with the new agency, there is a more lenient Therapeutic Use Exemption than that of the USADA.

With the promotional duties for his movies all but over, McGregor will be looking to make his comeback inside the octagon soon. As he has no positive drug tests, everything looks smooth sailing for the former two-division champion. Michael Chandler, his opponent, had confirmed that the fight was indeed happening.
