At just 21 years old, Cora Jade stands as one of the youngest superstars in NXT. She secured the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship last year. However, she recently suffered an injury during her match at the WWE NXT live event in Dade City, Florida.
For the past few days WWE fans are saddened to witness the injuries of LA Knight and Giovanni Vinci, who had a severe head injury. Jade’s injury has made the situation even worse.
Cora Jade breaks silence following her injury
At today’s WWE live event, Cora Jade faced the NXT Women’s Champion, Lyra Valkyria, for the title. According to reports from WWE fans in the arena, Jade landed awkwardly on her leg when attempting to powerslam Valkyria from the top rope, resulting in what seemed to be a legitimate injury. The referee promptly stopped the match, and WWE officials took her backstage.
After the injury, Cora Jade took to twitter and posted a short video saying, “I Laugh to keep from crying.” This confirmed that she has faced a severe injury during the live event, but she didn’t mention any further details about the seriousness of the injury.

This marks the third time in a year that Jade has faced an injury. During the New Year’s Evil special in January 2023, she suffered an injury in the 20-woman battle royal, keeping her off television for several months. She made her comeback in May 2023 but faced another injury during the semifinals of the tournament for the NXT Women’s Championship against Valkyria.
The injury was severe, as she cut her eyes during the match. Recently returning at NXT Deadline 2023, she attacked NXT Women’s Champion Lyra Valkyria after the Iron Survivor Women’s match. With the severity of her current injury still unknown, fans are hopeful for her swift return to the ring.
Cora jade earns praise from WWE legend
On a recent interview in the Busted Open Radio, WWE Hall of Famer, Bully Ray, who recently predicted the possible main event for WrestleMania 40, praised Cora Jade for her in ring attitude.
He said, “Since she’s come back, I feel Cora Jade’s demeanor, her attitude, and I’m not talking playing a character, I’m talking about having confidence in the ring. From her entrance, the moment she walks out there, I’m looking at her like, ‘This girl is a star and she understands it. I think they are going to continue to push her.”
Ray mentioned that she is very aggressive in the ring which makes her unique from other NXT superstars. Ray said, “They need a credible challenger. She’s become very aggressive in the ring as well and I hope that translates not only in ‘NXT’ but then eventually on the main roster.”
She was also praised by CM Punk at the backstage at NXT Deadline and said he was proud of her and that she should be proud of herself. Both also shared a photo of them that was taken 10 years back, when Punk was a full time performer in the company. With all these appreciations from big stars, she has become the rising stars of WWE and has a bright future ahead.
