The Dallas Cowboys, led by quarterback Dak Prescott and wide receiver CeeDee Lamb are going strong in the 2023 NFL season. With a 6-3 mark, they are currently sitting in the second spot of the NFC East, behind the Philadelphia Eagles.
As the NFL landscape is getting complex given bounce-back performances from teams like the Cincinnati Bengals and New York Jets, the Cowboys needed to continue winning matches to keep the dream of a playoff run alive. They did so by beating NFC East rival the New York Giants, and Prescott has a huge praise for Lamb following the victory.
Dak Prescott hails CeeDee Lamb
With Dak Prescott’s standout performance, the Cowboys handed a blowout loss to the Los Angeles Rams in Week 8 and extended their winning streak to 11 consecutive games at home. However, though he performed well in the Week 10 match against the Philadelphia Eagles as well, the team went down to its NFC rival.
A win against the Giants was mandatory for the Cowboys to push them towards an upward trajectory, and they did so by clinching a 32-point victory. CeeDee Lamb, who sits only 25 receiving yards shy of his third back-to-back 1,000-yard campaign, moonlighted as a hero in the match.
Following the win, Lamb boldly declared himself as the best receiver in the game, and Prescott also heaped praise on the young WR following the match saying, “This guy is special. He makes my job easy.”
Meanwhile, the Dallas signal-caller himself, who is one of the best paid players on their roster, also showcased a stellar performance on the offensive side by completing 26 of his 35 pass attempts for 404 yards along with four touchdowns, and one interception.
CeeDee Lamb creates NFL history
In the Cowboys’ 49-17 win over the Giants, Lamb played a pivotal role by catching 11 passes for 151 yards along with a touchdown. With this incredible performance, he set a new record by becoming the first receiver in the history of the NFL to catch a minimum of 10 passes for at least 150 yards for back-to-back 3 games, per CBS Sports.
Brandon Marshall, Keenan Allen, and Mike Evans have caught at least 10 passes along with at least 150 yards in two straight games, and the Cowboys receiver just overshadowed the veterans at such a young age.
In the Cowboys match against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 9, the young star played brilliantly by catching 11 passes for 191 yards, albeit his team had to embrace a painful loss in the contest. He put on a great show in Week 8 as well by catching 12 passes for 158 yards for two touchdowns in the match against the Los Angeles Rams.
Meanwhile, the 24-year-old player’s Week 10 performance made him the first player in the team’s history to score a minimum of 10 receptions along with 150 receiving yards and two touchdowns in a campaign. Besides this, he possesses four straight 100-yard matches dating back to Week 6 as well.
