Cristiano Ronaldo converts penalty to send Al Nasar to Arab Club Champions Cup final, secures top accolade

Cristiano Ronaldo has the ‘Siu’ celebration registered on our minds because of his goal-scoring habit. The Portuguese goal merchant, despite being 38 years old, regularly finds the back of the net like a striker in their prime. He has registered on the scoresheet for Al-Nassr in four consecutive appearances, placing him on an incredible scoring streak for the club lately.

Since joining the Saudi Arabian side, Cristiano Ronaldo has scored 18 goals in 24 matches for Al Nassr. More importantly, he has helped Al-Nassr achieve a record milestone in their history.

Cristiano Ronaldo sends Al Nassr to Arab Club Champions Cup final

Cristiano Ronaldo has left his goalscoring footprint in some of the prominent clubs in Europe, and now he’s set to imprint his name in the sands of time in Saudi Arabia. In his time at Manchester United, the 38-year-old Portuguese forward scored 145 goals and 64 assists in 346 appearances. He moved to Real Madrid in 2009, where he tallied an unreal number of 450 goals. Later, at Juventus, he scored 101 goals, and with the Portugal National team, he scored 17 goals in 23 appearances.

Carving the path to history, Cristiano Ronaldo has now scored consecutively against US Monastir, El Zamalek, Raja Casablanca, and Al Shorta in the Arab Club Champions Cup. The 38-year-old goal merchant netted once on penalty as Al Nassr defeated Al Shorta by one goal to nothing. In the game against Raja Casablanca, he opened the net with a glorious goal in the 19th minute of the game; Al Nassr later went on to win by three goals to one; this game saw them through to the Semis, and now they have delivered again and qualified for the finals.

Al-Nassr has been striding to the top of Arab football since Cristiano Ronaldo joined the club. Al Nassr only narrowly lost the Saudi Pro League to Al-Ittihad last season, but since then, they’ve been reaching for the very top of Arab football.

According to Transfermarkt, Al Nassr has not played in the finals or the semi-finals since the turn of the century. The last time they were even close was in 1995 when they lost to Al Hilal on penalties. Now the club has clearly come a long way. They made it to the semi-final and now the finals, beating Al Shorta, 1-0, with Ronaldo scoring a penalty.

Cristiano Ronaldo bags Man of the Match award

Cristiano Ronaldo’s goalscoring streak clearly indicates he is in incredible form. Even more incredible is that his rival, Lionel Messi, has been on the same goal-scoring streak. The Argentine Ballon d’Or winner has now scored seven times in just four appearances for Inter Miami.

Although their longevity and excellence are scripted, they are a testament to the reward of hard work and talent. On this note, Cristiano was awarded the Man of the Match award in the Arab Club Champions Cup.

After converting a penalty, Cristiano Ronaldo’s Man of the Match award is well deserved, considering he made a difference. If he had not found the back of the net, the game would have ended in a stalemate, eventually forcing both teams to extra minutes of play. The Portuguese Ballon d’Or winner is certainly on his way to 900 career goals.
