Cristiano Ronaldo takes center stage with energetic gesture despite $22.6 billion Al-Nassr’s second consecutive loss

Cristiano Ronaldo is the highest earner at Al Nassr, but despite unleashing a spending spree this summer and before, Al-Nassr finds themselves without a win after the first two clashes in the 2023/24 Saudi Pro League showdown. The squad, led by none other than Cristiano Ronaldo himself, suffered a disheartening defeat at home against Al-Taawoun.

The team had just won the highly revered Arab Club Champions Cup, and many fans expected them to be flying at the commencement of the Saudi Pro League last week, but Al Nassr is yet to register a win.

Ronaldo’s animated arm-waving reflects team’s challenges

Despite his exploits in the Arab Club Champions Cup, Cristiano Ronaldo and his Al Nassr teammates are experiencing a terrible start to the 2023/24 Saudi Pro League season.

The 38-year-old Portuguese International has made an impressive start to the 2023/24 season with Al Nassr. They lost their second successive match following their defeat to Al-Taawoun on Friday. Before this match, Al Nassr had already lost to Al-Ettifaq in a season opener.

Despite the defeat to Al Taawoun, Al Nassr showed a lot of willingness and courage to pull an equalizer since they were already trailing at half-time. They had a lot of goal-threatening attempts and could have secured a win, Sadio Mane scored a score that was disqualified, and even Cristiano Ronaldo hit the woodwork.

Watching his dejected fellow team members walk wearily towards the center half, Ronaldo took it upon himself to retrieve the ball. He then jogged back to the halfway line, encouraging his teammates to rally around him. A short while later, he was spotted attempting to ignite the crowd’s enthusiasm by signaling them to generate more noise.

Despite the defeat, some Al Nassr fans considered Ronaldo’s gesture an exhibition of authentic leadership and Sportsmanship. “Cristiano Ronaldo motivating team post goal conceded. A true leader”, a fan said.

Another fan said, “Ronaldo doing everything he can to get a tune out of this terrible Al-Nassr team. They’d be nothing without him and will deny him another league title.”

Cristiano Ronaldo’s team suffers second consecutive loss

Cristiano Ronaldo had just won his first trophy since 2021 after guiding Al Nassr to victory in the Arab Club Champions Cup Finals. Despite having played with just ten men, they defeated Al Hilal in a 2-0 win. Following the excellent run in the Arab Club Champions Cup, the Al Nassr and Ronaldo fans were probably expecting a glorious start to the season, but the reverse has been the case.

Cristiano Ronaldo, who scored six goals in the Arab Club Champions Cup that featured the most prominent clubs from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, and Iraq, has now failed to register a win for his team in the new Saudi Pro League (SPL).

Al Nassr has also spent much in the transfer window, signing Sadio Mane, Seko Fofana, and Marcelo Brozovic. According to ApexFootball, all three outstanding players were acquired in the past weeks, but they have not been able to make a memorable impact on the team yet.

Al Nassr was handed their second consecutive loss of the season with Leandre Tawamba Kana and a late strike from Ahmed Bahusayn, knocking the team down the SPL standings.
