Al-Nassr has been on an impressive winning streak, triumphing in four consecutive Saudi Pro League games. This remarkable turnaround comes after they suffered losses in their first two matches of the 2023–24 season. And pivotal to this immense success is the fact that Cristiano Ronaldo eventually recorded a goal in the match, despite having misfired at a cameraman on a previous attempt.
Mohamed Fouzair converted a late penalty kick for Al-Raed, denying Al-Nassr the opportunity to secure their third league clean sheet of the season. Nonetheless, they emerged victorious with the goals of Cristiano Ronaldo, Sadio Mane, and Anderson Talisca.
Ronaldo’s precision-free kick takes out the cameraman
Cristiano Ronaldo, the former Real Madrid and Manchester United star featured in Al-Nassr’s recent match against Al-Raed, extended his scoring streak. Bidding farewell to elite football, the 38-year-old Portugal skipper left Manchester United for Al-Nassr last year, and since then, he has offered a substantial contribution to their goal tally.
CR7 has been renowned for his goalscoring prowess over the years. However, he has found scoring from set pieces hard to come by in recent years.
It seems that not much has changed at Al-Nassr, as Ronaldo recently took a free-kick during a match against Al-Raed, but the ball missed the target. Unfortunately, a camera operator positioned behind the goal was unable to avoid the shot and had a challenging time detaching himself from his equipment as the ball struck him directly on the head.
Footage of the incident shows how the cameraman lost his balance, almost falling backwards before his colleagues came to his rescue.
The impact of the ball hitting the cameraman’s head was so forceful that it rebounded high into the crowd while he struggled to regain his balance.
Fortunately for Ronaldo, this incident wasn’t the only noteworthy moment of the game. He later found the back of the net and managed to score a goal.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s scoring streak continues in Al-Nassr’s 3-1 victory
Cristiano Ronaldo and Sadio Mane have been tearing up the SPL for Al Nassr. Both players have found the back of the net in four consecutive matches now, with Ronaldo leading the scoresheet with seven goals in five games already. Sadio Mane, on the other hand, has scored six goals in six games.
As the Al-Raed found themselves reduced to 10 players just before the end of the first half, Bander Whaeshi received a straight red card for a foul as the last defender on Mane.
Following this, Talisca capitalized on Al-Nassr’s numerical advantage early in the second half by scoring a remarkable long-range goal.
Cristiano Ronaldo, who had tried on several occasions to get his goal in the match, later found the back of the net in the 78th minute with an emphatic finish as Al-Nassr defeated Al-Raed with three goals to one.
