The Minnesota Vikings’ former star Dalvin Cook has not yet been able to include himself in a new team’s roster after being released by the franchise earlier this summer. Besides issues regarding his professional career, he has been battling with legal cases stemming from the allegations of his ex-girlfriend Gracelyn Trimble.
Though the running back has recently shared that he is actually enjoying the process of finding a new destination, he might not like the off-field issues that have come back to haunt him as these accusations might lead to getting suspended by the league before finding a new team.
Dalvin Cook supposedly to receive NFL suspension
According to a report from Rochelle Olson of the Minneapolis Star Tribune, Cook initially offered Trimble $800,000 to clear the ongoing allegations and asked her to ‘sign a sworn affidavit’ to deny any abuse claims. However, his ex-partner denied the offer and the free agent later followed up with another offer worth up to $1 million and asked her to send a letter to the NFL to let him out of the case. Trimble didn’t agree and denied this offer too.

Mike Florio from ProFootballTalk said there has been word going around in the league about a suspension of the RB, “There has been chatter in league circles regarding hesitation arising from the possibility of a suspension.”
Normally, the settlement offers aren’t permitted in court, albeit the NFL insider said Dalvin‘s lawyers asking his ex-girlfriend to send a letter of exoneration to the league signals a potential suspension under the personal conduct policy.
RB’s 2021 legal troubles resurfaced
Trimble filed a lawsuit accusing Cook of assault, battery, and false imprisonment back in November 2021. She said she wanted to break up with the four-time Pro Bowler and flew to Minnesota in November 2020 to part ways after initially having their first meet-up in 2018.
However, the footballer ‘allegedly’ got irritated after being asked to help with loading up her belongings and “grabbed her arm, and slung her whole body over the couch, slamming her face into the coffee table and causing her lower forehead and the bridge of her nose to bust open.”
Gracelyn attempted to Mace Dalvin but accidentally sprayed her own eyes and when she proceeded to the washroom to clear it, the NFL star allegedly assaulted her again. She later called her mate before going into his bedroom to pick up a gun. Later, the RB threatened to beat her up again with a broomstick upon hearing the conversation.
As of now, the ex-Vikings star might face penalties under the NFL’s Personal Conduct Policy. Stay with Sportsknot to get the latest developments on the incident.
