Dana White announces three main event matches for Fight Night, adds two ex-champions blockbuster bout to UFC 300

UFC 300, the coveted PPV of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, recently got one of three title fights announced by UFC CEO Dana White; a women’s strawweight title fight between Yan Xioanan and Zhang Weili in an all-Chinese affair.

White had previously announced a lightweight number one contender fight between former champion Charles Oliveira and the fourth-ranked lightweight, Arman Tsarukyan. Now, the UFC CEO has revealed additional matchups for the PPV, including former UFC champions and three Fight Night headliners scheduled for March 2024.

Dana White announces three UFC Fight Night headliners

The first of three Fight Night headliners announced by Dana White is a heavyweight clash between top 10 contenders Tai Tuivasa and Marcin Tybura. Scheduled to headline the UFC Apex Fight Night on March 16, 2024, Tuivasa enters the bout after a three-fight losing streak, having previously enjoyed a five-fight finish streak. Meanwhile, Tybura is coming off a first-round loss to Tom Aspinall.

The second of three fights announced by White was a women’s flyweight fight between former two-time women’s strawweight champion Rose Namajunas and 9th-ranked flyweight Amanda Ribas. Namajunas moved up to flyweight in her previous bout but lost to Manon Fiorot. Ribas fought at strawweight in her previous bout where she won via knockout victory over Luana Pinheiro.

The last Fight Night headliner announced by the UFC CEO was a fight between top 10 welterweights Vicente Luque and Sean Brady. Luque and Brady will headline the Fight Night scheduled at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City on March 30, 2024. Both fighters rebounded with a victory after losses in their previous fight.

In addition to the aforementioned Fight Nights, the UFC has two more events in March. The first event, on March 2nd, is a Fight Night event which will be the promotional debut in Saudi Arabia. It will be followed by the sole PPV of the month; UFC 299, headlined by Sean O’Malley and Marlon Vera on March 9th.

Dana White reveals another blockbuster fight on UFC 300

UFC CEO Dana White announced a blockbuster bantamweight fight between Deiveson Feiguerido and Cody Garbrandt for UFC 300. Figuerido, a former two-time flyweight champion made his bantamweight debut at UFC Austin where he won comfortably against top 10 bantamweight, Rob Font.

Garbrandt, a former bantamweight champion, is on a two-fight win streak after a disastrous run that saw him win only one of his previous 6 fights. Garbrandt called for the fight with Figuerido after his knockout victory over Brian Kelleher at UFC 296. The duo had a beef in the recent past and the fight promises to be an exciting affair due to the duo’s finishing prowess.

At UFC 300, three ex-champions are set to compete at the PPV. Former light heavyweight champion Jiri Prochazka will face Aleksandar Rakic, former lightweight champion Charles Oliveira is set to take on Arman Tsarukyan, and former bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling will make his featherweight debut against Calvin Kattar.

Initially, it was presumed that the UFC 300 would be headlined by Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler. However, McGregor announced his return to be at the International Fight Week PPV on June 29, 2024. White had already promised two more title fights for UFC 300 and fans are eagerly awaiting that fight announcement.
