Dana White and the UFC have a highly anticipated 2024 ahead with multiple stacked cards in the first quarter of the year. Recently returning from vacation, White announced blockbuster fights for UFC 299 and UFC 300.
Francis Ngannou’s recent announcement of a boxing match with Anthony Joshua sent shockwaves through the combat sports community. Consequently, White was forced to pull a rabbit out of his hat to counter the spotlight of the former UFC heavyweight champion.
Dana White more fight announcement for UFC 299 & 300
For UFC 299, White announced the co-main event between former interim champion and two-time undisputed title challenger Dustin Poirier and former French Special Forces member Benoit St-Denis, who is on a 5-fight finish streak in the lightweight division.
For the coveted UFC 300 PPV, White announced a number one contender fight between former champion Charles Oliveira and rising contender Arman Tsarukyan who recently knocked out Beneil Dariush in the main event of UFC Austin 2023. Incidentally, both Oliveira and Tsarukyan last fought Dariush with both winning via first round finish.
The number one contender fight began due to lightweight champion Islam Makhachev being unable to make it in time due to an injury. St-Denis, who recently knocked out Matt Frevola with a head kick in the main card of UFC 295, called out for a fight with BMF champion Justin Gaethje.
However, Denis got Poirier, whom Gaethje knocked out to become the BMF champion. Dana White had earlier announced UFC 299, which is already stacked with Sean O’Malley and Marlon Vera headlining the PPV. Moreover, White had earlier announced three fights for UFC 300 that already piqued the fan’s interest.
When will UFC 299 and 300 take place?
UFC 299 and UFC 300 are two of the most stacked PPV cards in UFC history. UFC 299, headlined by Suga Sean and Chito, is scheduled to be held at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida on March 9, 2024. UFC 300 is presumed to be held at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on April 13, 2024. The headliner for the PPV has not yet been announced.
UFC 299 is highly stacked with fights like Gilbert Burns vs Jack Della Maddalena, Petr Yan vs Song Yadong, Kevin Holland vs Michael Venom Page, and Curtis Blaydes vs Jailton Almeida to name a few. The PPV will be O’Malley’s first fight as a UFC champion and fans are eager to look into how much PPV buys ‘Suga’ could generate.
Dana White had earlier announced only 3 fights for UFC 300. Bo Nickal vs Cody Brundage, Jiri Prochazka vs Alexandar Rakic, and Aljamain Sterling vs Calvin Kattar were the three fights. Now with Charles Oliveira vs Arman Tsarukyan at the event, the PPV card is poised to become a highly stacked card.
