Daniel Ricciardo receives unique honour ahead of US GP return

Daniel Ricciardo is not only a prestigious driver but also a huge contributor to society. Along with being an F1 driver, there comes a huge responsibility for various other honors and titles. Several drivers, such as Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton, already have several titles attached to their names.

Daniel, who recently went through surgery, could not participate in several Grand Prix. However, despite the Australian’s struggles, he too has managed to clinch an honorable title for himself.

Daniel Ricciardo bestowed with Kentucky Colonel title

The Australian has been bestowed with the title of Kentucky Colonel by the  Commonwealth of Kentucky, which was then handed over by the state’s governor.

It is not an easy task to be honored with such a heavy title unless one contributes and dedicates welfare to society by doing a lot of community service. Daniel has had a special connection with America for a long time, and hence he deeply cares a lot for the people of the country.

A Kentucky Colonel is basically the ambassador of the state and its culture, traditions, folklore, etc.

The position is offered regardless of an individual’s background or tradition, as long as they care and want to do goodwill for the country. Although Daniel is from a different country and nation, he was still chosen to be the ambassador for his behaviour and actions towards the Americans.

Apart from that, one can also earn the title by donating a large amount of money to the group during crucial events to become a member of the group first.

Ricciardo set for US GP return

Finally, after what seemed like a decade to the fans, Daniel is returning to the F1 Industry. After suffering from a broken metacarpal during a practice crash, the driver finally recovered from the surgery.

Although the Australian has a huge gap in his training, he can still cope while having a comeback in the US Grand Prix.

In his absence, Liam Lawson has been a replacement driver, achieving two points in five grands prix. He also Facetimed Daniel, during the Qatar GP to fill up his void for his fans.

The Australian was the only driver who could inch closer to Verstappen’s pace; however, with the Dutchman’s improvement, he still needs a lot of practice to cope. Only time will tell us whether it was too soon to bring the Australian back to the show or if it will just be a phenomenal comeback for the driver.
