Darvin Ham hails relentless Anthony Davis after Lakers star’s masterclass secures victory over Raptors

Anthony Davis of the Lakers garnered significant attention for his impressive display of basketball skills in the game against the Toronto Raptors. The Lakers, led by Davis, put on a strong performance against the Raptors in their quest for their 19th win of the season. Despite their valiant efforts, the Raptors struggled to match Davis’ dominance on the court, resulting in them frequently getting into foul trouble.

The game, which was decided by free throws, saw Raptors HC Darko Rajakovic bashing the game officials for the lack of calls given in favor of the Toronto Raptors.

The coach spoke to the media after the game, highlighting the significance of Davis’ skillset for the Lakers and also showering compliments on the player for his game against Toronto.

“His efficiency, just him being a presence in the paint, being a presence at the rim, drawing fouls, knocking down his free throws, the efficiency with which he played tonight was awesome,” remarked Darwin Ham.

He also spoke highly of Davis’ presence in the paint, which saw the star draw fouls at his own will. Through the game, Davis alone went to the line a game-high 14 times and knocked down 13 of those attempts. While he was unstoppable on the offensive end of the court, he stopped everyone who came his way and did that in a very safe manner, barely allowing the referees to call a foul.

Ham, who has been criticized for his lack of strategy this season, was full of praise for the star earlier today, as he said, “His relentlessness in the paint was huge for us tonight.”

The Lakers HC set plays that ran through Davis for the entirety of the night, targeting the mismatch that the Raptors posed for the Lakers star.

The win against the Raptors saw the Lakers win back-to-back games for the first time in over a month as they find ways to get back into their In-Season Tournament groove, which they won in December last year, remaining unbeaten through the course of the tournament.

Anthony Davis score season-high point to secure Lakers win

The Lakers’ win against the Raptors was spearheaded by Anthony Davis’ monstrous masterclass which saw the star score a season-high of 41 points. Playing against a team that could not compete with Davis in terms of size, the star asserted his dominance right from the get-go and did not hesitate for an instant.

Teammate and basketball legend Lebron James complemented Davis’ attacking mindset and orchestrated multiple plays which led to vicious dunks for the 6’10” superstar. Davis’ onslaught of the Raptors began right from tip-off and went on to the final seconds of the game which saw the star shooting multiple clutch free throws and baskets to seal the deal for the Lakers.

Anthony Davis had the bulk of his points in the fourth quarter, as he scored 20 points in the final quarter of the game that went down to the wire.

Scoring 41 points, Anthony Davis shot 13 of 17 from the field, which comprised two 3-pointers. He was also exceptional with his free throws, shooting 13 of his 14 attempts. Through the night, Davis had a stat line of 41 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists, and a block.

This season, Davis is on a phenomenal run and is averaging 25.7 points per game for the Lakers. Unlike the Lakers, other NBA franchises will hope for a slump in Davis’ performances, considering the fact that Davis provides crucial depth to the Lakers rotation.
