James Harden has been vocal in his distaste for Sixers general manager Daryl Morey, calling him a fraud and promising to never work with Morey again. Their relationship changed drastically from their time together with the Houston Rockets, where Harden became a superstar under Morey’s guidance.

Despite expressing a desire to be dealt to the LA Clippers, trade talks broke down because of the 76ers’ prohibitive asking price. Harden was moved to the 76ers from the Nets in a deal that sent Ben Simmons packing. Harden elected to keep his $36.5 million player option. The current conflict is in stark contrast to their previous cooperative relationship.
