Days after Birmingham City investment announcement, $350 million Ryan Reynolds welcomes $300 million Tom Brady with humble message

After putting an end to his 23-season illustrious career, Tom Brady is continuing to apply his business acumen by purchasing ownership of multiple sports teams. The former NFL legend has recently become a minority owner of the English soccer team Birmingham City FC.

Ryan Reynolds also purchased the Welsh soccer team Wrexham back in 2020. He along with Rob McElhenney seems to have taken the team to a new height and earned fame for the franchise like never before. Following Brady’s stakeholder status at St Andrew’s, the Hollywood star had a heartwarming welcoming message for the seven-time Super Bowl champion.

The documentary series ‘Welcome to Wrexham’ would showcase Reynolds and McElhenney’s journey from turning a rather mediocre team into a decent global phenomenon. While speaking to Sky Sports prior to the first fixture of the series, Reynolds stated he knows the former Tampa Bay Buccaneers star a little and showered him with praise.

“I know Tom [Brady] a little bit and I don’t think you need to know him to know he has the spirit of a lion and a competitor in every way, shape, and form. Whatever he has cooked up for Birmingham, he is going to bring it.”

Ryan was reportedly asked if he had any advice for TB12, but he remained humble and instead, asked for advice from the California Cool,

“Come on in, the water is warm! I would never give Tom Brady words of wisdom over professional sports. But Tom, if you have any advice for us, you could send it our way!”

The Birmingham City club itself announced Brady‘s move of partnering with the New York-based investment firm Knighthead Capital Management to purchase the minority ownership of the club which was acquired by Tom Wagner last month along with its stadium.

Tom Terrific would be on duty as the club’s Chairman of the Advisory Board, and counsel the team with “health, nutrition, wellness, and recovery systems and programs, and marketing.”

The former Premier League outfit finished in 17th place in the Championship last term and they had been playing in the second tier since 2011.

“Birmingham City is an iconic club with so much history and passion and to be part of the Blues is a real honor for me,” said Brady.

During his career, the ex-Bucs quarterback was famous for his commitment to his former teams and attempts at maintaining teamwork to help turn two fairly average teams into Super Bowl contenders. Hence, the 46-year-old veteran said he would apply his immense knowledge in helping Birmingham.

“BCFC is built on teamwork and determination and I’m excited to work alongside the board, management, and players to make our Second City club second to none. I’ve been part of some amazing teams in my day, and I’m looking forward to applying my perspective to create that same success here in Birmingham.”

Whether Brady becomes successful in pushing Birmingham toward an upward trajectory is yet to be seen. However, his back-to-back decision to keep in touch with the sports world indicates his strong passion for sports in general.
