Days after joining forces with Oprah for Maui, Dwayne Johnson takes up waiter role for cancer-battling fan

From the very beginning of his career in WWE, Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock has maintained a humble demeanour towards his devoted fan base. Over the years, Dwayne has actively participated in numerous charitable events and fan gatherings.

Recently, despite his busy schedule, ‘The Rock’ surprised one of his most dedicated fans who is battling cancer. Additionally, he collaborated with another well-known celebrity, Oprah Winfrey, on a fundraising campaign to assist victims of natural disasters.

Dwayne Johnson surprises young fan

Dwayne Johnson gave a priceless gift to a young fan battling cancer. He shared a touching video on his Twitter account, capturing his meeting with Luna Perrone, a young fan suffering from ‘Ewings Sarcoma,’ a rare disease. The video includes moments from their meeting a few months ago and several clips showcasing Luna’s medical journey.

In the post shared with his followers, Dwayne mentioned his own daughters and how meeting this special fan, after two years of contact with her over social media, profoundly impacted his life. After Luna’s condition worsened due to the cancer spreading, he decided to surprise her with some special snacks.

Posting the clip the WWE superstar wrote: “As a proud and grateful GIRL DAD of three beautiful daughters – when you finally meet the beautiful young girl who’s not only your biggest fan, but she’s also battling cancer and fights for her life…It just has a sobering way of putting everything back into perspective. Reminds us of all the stuff in life that really matters and all the stuff the don’t. @luna_perrone is a REAL LIFE HERO and inspires everyone around her – including me. You stay strong and keep smiling kid… Glad you enjoyed all your surprises and yes, YOUR FLEX is WAY COOLER than mine ~ dj. (I always say it, because it’s the truth – stuff like this will always be the best part of fame).”

The Rock kicked off the Maui relief fund with Oprah

The wildfires in Maui have tragically claimed the lives of at least 115 individuals, with an unknown number still missing. The fire that devastated the historic town of Lahaina on August 8 marked the deadliest wildfire incident in the United States in over a century.

However, Dwayne Johnson and Oprah Winfrey have generously donated $10 million to establish a new fund aimed at providing direct payments to the families of victims on Maui who are unable to return to their homes due to the ongoing wildfires in the region.

According to the fund’s official website, the People’s Fund of Maui will provide $1,200 per month to adults who are unable to return to their residence due to the recent wildfires, including people who own and rent their houses. The fund raising organization will also seek donations from public to extend the length of time it can provide assistance.

“How can we assist?” In a video that was released on Twitter, Dwayne Johnson claimed that he and Oprah talked about how to focus their efforts in the midst of the blaze. “You want to provide for people’s greatest need, which is money” said Oprah. Both of them expressed their gratitude for “everyone who called and said, ‘What can I do for help?'” they received. Following that, Winfrey said with a smile, “This is what you can do.”

The People’s Fund of Maui, as per its website, requires applicants to provide a government ID and a power bill in their name for a lost or unusable residence. Dwayne Johnson and Oprah Winfrey anticipate that the fund will continue to make payments to eligible individuals for a minimum of six months.
