After the Cincinnati Bengals and New York Jets, the Minnesota Vikings were the latest team to showcase a bounce-back performance lately. After losing Kirk Cousins for the entire season due to an injury, the team lost all hopes of gearing up themselves before Josh Dobbs came and became a savior for them.
Dobbs couldn’t fill the hole of the Arizona Cardinals’ injured quarterback Kyler Murray before getting traded to the Vikings. However, after landing in Minnesota, he brought good luck for both himself and the Vikings. The social media is going crazy with the signal-caller’s recent resurgence, and a lucky fan even caught his attention.
Dobbs’ hilarious response to Creed-singing Vikings fan
After securing a phenomenal win against the Atlanta Falcons days ago, Dobbs secured another win for the Vikings against the New Orleans Saints. Besides helping the team come out of their losing streak, the QB also helped a fan by giving him a shout-out on social media.
A TikTok user, MaceAhWindu, made a mashup of him singing and Dobbs running into the end zone. The post went viral and caught the attention of the Vikings star, who then posted it on his TikTok account and also responded to it on X. The post, which calls back to the Vikings and their injured QB Kirk Cousins’ banging Creed in the locker room, was retweeted by Dobbs with the caption “I wish I could hit that note”, via Arizona Sports.
In the Vikings’ recent 27-19 win against the Saints, the team’s new starter threw for 268 yards while running for 44 more along with two touchdowns.
Josh Dobbs helps Vikings seal memorable victory over Falcons
After going 167-of-266 passing for 1,569 yards and scoring eight touchdowns for five interceptions with an 81.2 passer rating for the Cardinals, Dobbs landed in Minnesota ahead of the Oct. 31 trade deadline. Though he lost the starting spot to Clayton Tune in Arizona following a 1-7 record, he proved his caliber with the Vikings in his debut match against the Falcons.
In that 31-28 win, the signal-caller completed 20-of-30 passes for 158 yards with two touchdowns, earning him a nod from NASA. The dual-threat also rushed seven times for 66 yards with a touchdown and earned the title of NFC Offensive Player of the Week. With two consecutive wins, the Vikings improved to 6-4 after a 0-3 start, thanks to Dobbs for his stellar performance.
