DeMarvion Overshown Injury Report: Cowboys rookie LB to miss entire NFL 2023 season due to his torn ACL injury

The rookie player DeMarvion Overshown reportedly had an exceptional training camp and preseason but to the disappointment of many Dallas Cowboys fans, he has now suffered a brutal injury that might take him out of the entire season.

Many observers held their breath as the rookie linebacker collapsed in pain during the opening period of their team’s preseason loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Saturday. In an NFL season plagued with record-breaking numbers of injuries, Demarvion is yet another addition to a long list of injured players.

DeMarvion Overshown suffers from a season-ending ACL injury

During a tackle in the second series of the game, the 23-year-old tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. He was afterward taken off the field on a cart and was unable to rejoin the game. Mike McCarthy, the teams’ coach, expressed his sorrow over the loss following their defeat by highlighting the rookie’s fantastic training camp.

“He’s had an incredible camp. Seems like we talked about him every other day. I hope he’s OK. He was climbing. He was climbing the charts. I mean, he showed up right away in the offseason program, just his ability to fly around. Really has an excellent command for a young player, young linebacker.”

The linebacker’s diagnosis of an ACL tear, which raised concerns for the team on Saturday night, was confirmed by an MRI on Sunday. He is currently anticipated to miss the entire season. Although DeMarvions’ eagerness and teammate participation were evident during the preseason, his season-ending injury prevented him from demonstrating his value prior to the start of the regular season.

Cowboys admirers are upset over DeMarvion Overshown’s injury

The Dallas squad had to deal with the injuries of some of their most dependable players during a game in which the Seahawks’ offense produced big plays in a 22-14 victory. The injury of DeMarvion overshadowed Matt Waletzkos’ shoulder injury and tight end John Stephen’s knee injury.

The player had a successful last season at Texas, compiling 96 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, and four sacks before beginning his NFL career. Therefore, his injury disappointed his supporters who were hoping to witness the Texas hero in action on the NFL field as well.

“No way bro NOOOOOO he played at Texas for so long & finally got the opportunity to play in the NFL & this happens I feel so bad,” one comment read.

Even though I hate the Cowboys, awful to see,” this comment demonstrates the level of support and popularity Overshown may have amassed prior to beginning a regular season.

The Texas native tweeted “Still Blessed” with a praying hands emoji in the middle of the night, perhaps in response to his fans’ support. Leighton Vander and Damone Clark could now be the Cowboys team’s alternative linebackers as a result of his season-ending injury.
