Dennis Rodman vented at minister to “shut up and get on with it” after 5 chapels refused to marry him to Carmen Electra

Known for his crazy antics, there is never a dull moment with one of the greatest rebounders of all time, Dennis Rodman. From hanging out with North Korean President Kim Jong Un to abandoning his basketball responsibilities to enjoy a lavish time in Las Vegas, the Chicago Bulls legend has done it all.

However, these are just a few events of Dennis Rodman’s crazy euphoria which was a cause of concern of all who shared the court with him and those who went to great lengths to keep the star away from harm’s way.

Dennis Rodman let his frustration out on the minister during his wedding

In November 1998, Dennis Rodman was enjoying his best life with his then-partner, Carmen Elektra. The pair tore up the Vegas Strip with their antics and seemed to have the time of their lives before they decided to commemorate their relationship and decided to get married spontaneously, in pure Vegas spirit; at the nearest chapel they could find.

Speaking on their craziness, Elektra said in ‘The Last Dance’ documentary, “We were drinking shots. You couldn’t miss him with his colored hair and tattoos. We would hit the strip club, then after-hours clubs. We were having a blast.”

However in their aim to get married at 6:30 AM in the morning, things did not go as planned for the five-time NBA champion. While finding a chapel was an easy task, finding a chapel that would accept to conduct and officiate the proceedings between Rodman and Elektra was far from easy.

After getting turned away five times, the two celebrities finally found a chapel that agreed to oversee their matrimony. However, Rodman seemed quite annoyed with how long the ceremony took and bashed the chapel minister, asking him not to delay the function.

He even urged him to “shut up and get on with it” when the minister was explaining to the pair the importance of the wedding ring. Rodman rashly said, “You know, shut the h*** up before I change my mind and get on with it.”

Rodman’s self-marriage stunt still vividly lives in the memory

In another infamous event surrounding the legendary Bulls player, Dennis Rodman claimed that he was going to be marrying himself, after revealing to the world that he bisexual. In 1996, the 6’7″ player wore a wedding gown worth reportedly 10K USD and married himself in an event that was vividly captured by photographers.

Rodman penned a memoir, ‘Bad as I Wanna Be’ in which he expressed affection for women’s attire from a very young age. “I don’t remember the first time I decided to do it as an adult…It was more of a gradual thing, where it progressed from earrings and fingernails to halter tops and tight leather shorts,” Rodman said.

Regardless of his off-the-court fanatics and on-court aggressive nature, Rodman is highly regarded as one of the greatest defensive players of all-time purely for his insane rebounding which helped Phil Jackson’s Bulls win multiple champions, spearheaded by Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen.
