Deshaun Watson injury update: reviewing the latest clinical notes on Browns QB

Along with Deshaun Watson, the Cleveland Browns kicked off the regular season on a high note with a 24-3 blowout victory against the Cincinnati Bengals that prompted Watson to have a wild party. The Browns enjoyed another convincing 27-3 victory against the Titans in their Week 3 game.

Yet this time, instead of partying, Watson has fallen prey to a gruesome injury, leading his team to square off against rivals without their franchise quarterback.

Deshaun Watson could miss significant time

Deshaun Watson suffered a rotator cuff injury from a tackle on a goal-line scramble, ruling him out from the Browns Week 3 game. The injury forced him to miss their battle against the Baltimore Ravens, which they lost. The Browns don’t want Deshaun’s injury to persist, keeping him out of practice and giving him lots of time to recover properly because the rotator cuff injury is reportedly a deep bruise in the back of the shoulder.

Though the Browns’ quarterback is set to miss the game against the San Francisco 49ers, he has made substantial progress over the past two weeks. Doctors already gave good feedback regarding his injury, clearing him prior to their matchup against the Ravens.

In spite of the terrible injury, there is still some hope that Deshaun Watson will take his spot in Week 7, as the Browns will not put his name on the injured reserve list. It would be much more convenient to say that if his position requires less or no interaction with his throwing shoulder, perhaps he would be on the practice squad with his team.

Browns’ Nick Chubb faces season-ending blow with knee injury

Before Deshaun Watson, injury concerns in the Browns squad first arose highly regarding their star player Nick Chubb. Chubb suffered a significant knee injury during their 26-22 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in their Week 2 game, after getting hit by Steelers safety Minkah Fitzpatrick.

At first, an NFL insider reported his injury as a “possible knee dislocation, potentially with multiple ligament damage”.

Later, the Browns’ head coach Kevin Stefanski told reporters that their star receiver would miss the entire season due to the injury.

Nick Chubb suffered almost the same type of injury last season yet he closed the season with a stunning remark. His consistency out of the backfield lessened pressure from Watson in their first two games. Unfortunately, now both of them are subject to injury.

Though Chubb’s injury set him out of the season, fortunately  the three-time Pro Bowler avoided a potential career-ending injury. Meanwhile, his quarterback is also making gradual progress.

Whatever the case is, without two of their star players, the Browns’ battle with the 49ers surely will be a tough one.
