Despite admitting Carlos Alcaraz to be “step ahead” of him following Wimbledon triumph, Jannik Sinner confident of challenging world No.1

Italian tennis stunner Jannik Sinner is one of the top-most players of this generation. He became the youngest ATP title holder after winning the Sofia Open in 2008. Since then, he has dazzled the world of tennis with his super fast skillset development and is predicted to be the perfect rival for the world number 1, Carlos Alcaraz.

The Fox is currently ranked world number 8 and is slowly carving his style of play to become one of the greatest tennis players. During his course in the professional tennis world, he will have to go against Wimbledon-winning youngster Carlos Alcaraz. While their scores are equal, Sinner thinks otherwise.

Jannik Sinner shares his thoughts about Carlos Alcaraz’s success

Over the past month, the centerstage of the tennis world is by the Wimbledon 2023 finalists- Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic. Now, the 21-year-old tennis star showers praise on the young Spaniard and said that Carlos is the best in the world and winning Wimbledon is “a big confidence boost”.

Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz have gone up against each other several times, and even though neither of them is edging out the head-to-head score, the Italian thinks that Carlos is ‘a step ahead’ of him.

This duo almost always has so much fun whenever they are on-court together. Their friendship has extended into their entire families as they have each other’s backs too. Just last month, Jaime Alcaraz (Alcaraz’s younger brother) defended the Italian stunner from trolls on social media. The magical friendship sportsmanship in both Sinner and Alcaraz is igniting yet another epic tennis friendship-rivalry.

While all three of Carlitos’ wins against the Italian has been in the hard court surface, Sinner has taken the win against him in all three surfaces- clay, grass and hard courts.
