Daniel Ricciardo undoubtedly became the apple of AlphaTauri’s eyes during the Mexican GP. The Aussie gave a stellar performance after his recovery from the Austrian GP crash. If there’s one race on this calendar that Daniel Ricciardo is excited for, it’s inevitably the Las Vegas GP, which perfectly matches the ‘cultural clown’ demeanor of Daniel Ricciardo.
The Las Vegas GP had came under a lot of criticism due to the tactics of organizers and Lewis Hamilton was the first to speak up on this incident. Daniel Ricciardo has joined the fight, standing up for the people in his new statement.
Ricciardo shares his thoughts on the Las Vegas GP ticket prices
The viewers of Las Vegas GP have been extremely agitated due to the pricing of Las Vegas GP. There were massive price cuts prior to the race, as many tickets remain unsolved. The entire community is outraged and believes that it’s unfair for them.
Daniel Ricciardo is one of the most well-received drivers in the sport, with fans in almost every venue the Formula 1 entourage visits. As such, Ricciardo related to the complaints of fans and commented on the apparent unfairness of ticket prices.
“I guess, like all things, you need a balance,” Ricciardo said.“I did hear some entry-level prices; I’m well aware that not everyone can afford those. I would love that everyone can have the option to attend. Obviously, I’m not the business behind the sport, but maybe it’s, I don’t want to say it’s my ignorance, but I would still love that a general admission is affordable for anyone, whatever job they are.“
“Of course, if there’s then some crazy packages, and that people want to spend that money, all good, so be it, but I guess I don’t like to hear that ‘we would have loved to have come but we simply couldn’t afford it’.”
Daniel’s request resonated with the fans who supported him and asked the organizers to provide a solution to the extremely expensive Las Vegas GP tickets.
Ricciardo branded ‘selfish’ by former boss
Daniel Ricciardo has gone through many teams in his career, and his stint with Renault was largely successful. The ex-principal of Renault Racing rebuked Daniel for his ‘selfish’ attitude.
Daniel had decided to leave Renault F1 well in advance of the 2020 season, a move that wasn’t well received by the team boss. He claimed that it was incredibly selfish of Daniel and it gave the team no time to improve with less motivation right from the start of the season. Daniel had decided to go forth with McLaren in the 2021 season, even after a successful stint with Renault in 2019. He crushed their expectations, though, leaving them with lost hopes right before the 2020 season.
