Despite Drake adding $1,351,500 to his $250,000,000 worth, Dillon Danis advises the singer not to “bet against a dawg”

Canadian rapper Drake is a notorious gambler known for betting big on anything sports. He has placed notable bets on the NBA, MMA, and boxing. Moreover, there is also an internet conspiracy theory called the ‘Drake Curse’ that is still going the rounds on the internet.

Recently, Drake placed a bet on the boxing bout between Logan Paul and Dillon Danis. The rapper placed a bet of $850K on the bout for his gut to win by KO/TKO. Dillon Danis, in the aftermath of the bout, had some words for Drake which he tweeted on X.

Dillon Danis trolls Drake over $850,000 bet

Preluding the highly anticipated bout between Dillon Danis and Logan Paul, Drake placed a bet worth $850K on Paul to win against Danis via KO/TKO. Paul instead won the fight via DQ in the sixth round. This seemingly meant that Drake lost the bet. Many X handles including Dillon Danis himself trolled Drake for this.

However, it seems Drake did not lose his bet. He had placed his bet on Stake. According to Stakes Policies, a win by DQ is seen as a form of KO/TKO. As a result, Drake won the bet.

Every X account that tried to put out the news of Drake losing the bet was dealt with a community note by X. Danis had tweeted, “Sorry you lost that 850k @Drake never bet against a dawg.” This was met with a community note reading, “According to Stakes Policies, a win by disqualification is counted as Knockout/Technical Knockout. Drake won the bet.”

Drake is also known for his close association with Israel Adesanya. He notably bet big on Adesanya and Jorge Masvidal at UFC 287. It did not go fully his way as he lost a bet on Masvidal but won with Adesanya. Masvidal lost to Gilbert Burns at UFC 287 whilst Adesanya knocked out Alex Periera to reclaim the middleweight title.

As Drake is known to publicly announce his bet on social media, Israel Adesanya followed in his footsteps. Adesanya recently bet $20K on the Rugby World Cup quarterfinals between Ireland and New Zealand. The former middleweight champion placed the bet on the underdogs, New Zealand to win which could get him a $44K payout. Surprisingly, the All Blacks upset the Shamrocks 28-24 making Adesanya a $20K profit on his bet.

Danis discloses future plans

In the aftermath of his loss to Logan Paul, Dillon Danis has again resorted to X to remain significant in the combat sports discussions. After calling out the likes of Jake Paul and Drake, Danis announced his plans to join the premier MMA promotion, the UFC.

Danis tweeted on Platform X, “UFC next..” However, the chances of the UFC signing Danis after the recent awful performance are slim. Danis originally came to prominence with his association with Conor McGregor. He was the Jiu-Jitsu coach of the Irish two-division UFC champion. Danis, on numerous occasions, has hinted that his goal is to become a UFC champion.

It also needs to be noted that, Danis has already called out Jake Paul to a boxing bout. Paul has not yet responded to the callout. The younger Paul brother holds notable victories in boxing over credentialed MMA fighters Tyron Woodley, Ben Askren, Anderson Silva, and Nate Diaz. Jake Paul was also in the corner of his older brother in his bout against Dillon Danis.

An interesting thing to note is that Danis is undefeated in MMA although he has not competed in the sport since 2019. He was signed with Bellator MMA and holds a 2-0 win-loss record. It seems Dana White, the CEO of UFC does not have a good enough image of Dillon Danis. Moreover, he was escorted out of UFC 268 after a backstage altercation with Ali Abdelaziz, the head of the managing firm, Dominance MMA.
