Despite Erik ten Hag including Jadon Sancho in UCL squad, England international reportedly open to move out of Old Trafford

Jadon Sancho’s arrival at Manchester United was met with great expectations, but his performance at the club has fallen short of those hopes. Among the high-profile signings made by Manchester United in the post-Sir Alex Ferguson era, few have faced as many challenges or struggled to live up to their potential as Sancho. Now he faces a premature exit from the club because of a rift with the manager.

The standoff between Erik Ten Hag and Jadon Sancho continues as Manchester United remains unwavering in its stance on requiring an apology from Jadon Sancho, but Sancho remains unapologetic. This situation has placed Sancho’s Manchester United career in jeopardy as the impasse between the player and the manager continues.

Jadon Sancho’s Man Utd exit rumours

Jadon Sancho’s departure from Manchester United in January appears probable due to a deteriorating relationship with manager Erik ten Hag, as reported by Sky Germany. While the specifics of the transfer remain uncertain, a loan move is considered more likely than a permanent transfer. Additionally, a return to his former club, Borussia Dortmund, though unexpected, has not been entirely ruled out.

The rumors of his return to Dortmund were further confirmed when it was reported that Dortmund head coach Edin Terzic is understood to be in regular contact with the England international.

Confirming his exit rumours, Kaveh Solhekol, Sky Sports News chief, had this to say;

“Sky Germany is saying Sancho has been in regular contact with Borussia Dortmund manager Edin Terzic. Sancho used to play at Dortmund, and for a while, Terzic was his manager because he was interim manager towards the end of Sancho’s time at the club.

“Dortmund, according to Sky Germany, want him back. It’s more likely to be a loan than a permanent move, but they’re also saying it’s unlikely he would return to the club. Dortmund realises it will be difficult to get him out of Manchester United.

He continued to weigh in, saying, “Why doesn’t he just say sorry? Then he would be welcomed back into the first-team picture.”

“If it carries on and on until January, then he would have to leave United. He can’t waste his career away not playing. The most likely thing that would happen then would be a loan move to a club abroad. I’m sure a lot of clubs would like to sign him because he is a fantastic player,” he concluded.

Erik Ten Hag “includes” Jadon Sancho in the Man Utd lineup

Ten Hag’s statement about Reguilon caused a significant amount of confusion on social media, with some reports suggesting that Sancho had made a return to the team. However, the club later clarified, through journalist Samuel Luckhurst of the Manchester Evening News, that Ten Hag was actually talking about Reguilon and not Sancho.

Jadon Sancho has been absent from the club’s fixtures for a few weeks now since his social media post on September 3, in which he expressed feeling like a scapegoat. Meanwhile, Manchester United’s manager, Erik ten Hag, remains resolute in his standoff with Jadon Sancho. He has made it clear that he won’t permit Sancho to rejoin first-team training unless the player issues an apology.

Manchester United were hoping that the matter would be resolved amicably after the Director of Football, John Murtough, and CEO Richard Arnold tried to mediate between both parties. However, the matter has now escalated with growing concerns that Jadon Sancho might depart the club.
