In all parameters, it shouldn’t be a shock to those who are familiar with LeBron’s game since his Cavaliers days, which has earned him numerous achievements including winning the NBA championship four times.
The legend yet again put up a stunning performance in the LA Lakers’ fifth matchup in the regular season against the LA Clippers. It was LeBron’s masterclass that made the headlines despite Paul George’s astonishing display.
LeBron James clutch moments vs Clippers
LeBron James had a super moment for the Lakers against the Clippers which decided the game to give the Lakers victory with the score line 130-125. LeBron James was involved in 21 of the Lakers’ 30 points in the fourth quarter. Though the Clippers managed to extend the game to overtime, which LeBron put up a clutch performance to clinch the Lakers’ victory.
The 38-year-old sprinted to the floor to throw a mind-blowing alley-oop after being assisted by Austin Reaves. The legend who had limited time against the Nuggets in their season opener, managed to play a season-high 42 minutes, with Coach Darvin Ham being careful of his fitness because of his age, but the legend is poised to have more minutes on the court.
LeBron being as consistent as he always is, averaged an astonishing 35 points, 11 rebounds, 7 assists, 2 blocks, 68% FG, and 50% 3P in his 42 minutes. The Lakers’ victory ended their 11-game losing streak to the Clippers since 2020 to end their rival’s dominance.
Paul George’s 20-point performance vs Lakers
The Lakers managed to edge out the Clippers with a victory largely owing to LeBron’s last-minute amazing display, but the game could have gone in favor of the Clippers, as Paul George was equally exceptional on the court. Paul George forced the game into overtime with 20 points in the fourth quarter, something that did not go unnoticed.
While Paul George had 35 points in total, Kawhi Leopard dazzled with an astonishing 38 points. Paul was able to tie the score at 117-all with 8 points in the final 57 seconds before fouling out, which inspired the Lakers to run away with the victory.
While Clippers’ PJ Tucker debuted for 21 minutes and averaged 5 rebounds, James Harden who has been traded from the Sixers looked on from the bench in street outfits. As the Lakers look to become a title contender, Coach Darvin Ham may need to give LeBron more minutes on the court for better game outcomes.
