Despite praising Iyo Sky’s strategy for successfully cashing in her MITB contract, Bianca Belair issues stern warning to WWE Women’s Champ

Bianca Belair defeated the fearsome Asuka and Charlotte Flair to win the Women’s Championship at WWE SummerSlam 2023 in a triple-threat match that some fans think will go down in WWE history. After an astonishing reign, Asuka’s dominance was brought to a stunning halt.

Bianca’s path to triumph was paved with courage and adversity, showcasing her athleticism and determination to reclaim her former glory from Asuka. However, she wasn’t able to hold the championship for even a day as IYO SKY cashed in her MITB briefcase and won the title from injured Bianca.

Bianca Belair warns Iyo Sky

IYO SKY had a major push in her performance in Puerto Rico earlier this year against Bianca Belair aka The EST of WWE. The loud reactions they received apparently reached the ears of the creative team of WWE as well, and it was decided that IYO will win the Money in the Bank contract and subsequently get aligned to win the Women’s Championship at Summerslam 2023.

At The Biggest Party of the Summer, Bianca Belair narrowly achieved victory over reigning champion Asuka and Charlotte Flair in a triple threat, only to get cashed in on, not long after scoring the pinfall over The Empress.

Bianca Belair recently spoke to Mike Jones about IYO SKY’s cash-in at SummerSlam 2023 in Detroit, Michigan: “I was champion for 90 seconds. I try to laugh about it to keep my spirits high. I always say, it still counts. At the end of the day, IYO SKY came out, she cashed in on me after I had gone through a 30-minute match with an injured knee. I’m not making excuses for it.”

“If I was IYO SKY, I would have probably done the same thing, that’s what being Ms. Money in the Bank is all about, I’m definitely coming after that title, I only got to hold it in my hands for 90 seconds, the brand new WWE Women’s Title, I definitely want to hold it in my hands for longer than 90 seconds,” she added.

She concluded by assuring that “vengeance” is coming the Women’s Champion’s way on Friday Night SmackDown.

Iyo Sky cashed in her MITB contract to defeat Bianca Belair

Iyo Sky is the new WWE women’s champion after cashing in her Money in the Bank briefcase and pinning Bianca Belair, who had just defeated Asuka and Charlotte Flair in a Triple Threat match at SummerSlam 2023 to win the belt and briefly became a three-time women’s champion.

Belair won the initial match despite hitting her right knee on the steel steps after Flair tossed her out of the squared circle. Officials tended to her and started leading her backstage, but she mustered enough strength to get back to the ring and hit Flair with a 450.

Later in the match, Flair caught Bianca in Figure 8, but as that happened, Asuka sprayed The Queen with green mist before missing a kick on The EST of WWE. Bianca took swift advantage by grabbing The ‘Empress of Tomorrow’ and rolling her up for the pin.

However, Belair’s title celebration was short-lived as Sky and Bayley raced to the ring and cleaned house, with The Genius of the Sky hitting The EST with a moonsault to successfully cash in for the title. Afterward, Sky celebrated with her Damage CTRL stablemates, Bayley and Dakota Kai.
