Samantha Irvin, who is a ring announcer in WWE, was caught in a clip giving the best reaction as The Rock’s theme played. She got off her chair in disbelief and shouted, “Oh, my God”.
The Rock saw the clip posted on Twitter/X and posted his reaction following the video of her reaction. The caption read, “Love this. She’s dope”.
Samantha’s been on the news since last year before her reaction video circulated. It was revealed that the WWE higher-up warned Irvin to tone down her voice when announcing a certain female wrestler. The said female wrestler is Chelsea Green, who, according to Samantha, has a sassy persona, which just made Irvin feel that she should sound a bit different whenever she announces her ring entrance.
Samantha Irvin on Chris Van Vliet’s podcast, INSIGHT, that “It was just because of her, it’s just her. She came back, and her attitude and everything was just she was so sassy and I just loved it. And I just thought she’s not, you know [flatly] Chelsea Green like, no, she’s Chelsea Green! And it just, I did it one time. I think now it’s like obviously now it’s over the top but the first time I did it, I think I just was like Chelsea Green, and like some people noticed, you know, and then well now she will not let me say it any other way. She helped me fine-tune it perfectly for her”.
Irvin might just be the most loved ring announcer in WWE currently, and WWE fans love her for her personality, her humor, and her vocal skills.
The Rock opens up about his thunderous WWE RAW return
The Rock left WWE in 2004 in pursuit of becoming an actor in Hollywood. The superstar has made a lot of blockbuster movies since he switched careers, and sometimes he just makes these surprise appearances to keep himself connected with the place where everything started. WWE is a special place for Johnson, as it is the place where he first got the recognition and love that any superstar craves, and he was the fan favorite during his time with the company.
