Bronny James was poised to follow in his father LeBron James’ footsteps to attain greater heights in the world of basketball. Unfortunately, back in July, he had suffered a devastating cardiac arrest.
Recently, LeBron James disclosed that Bronny had to undergo vital surgery to repair a congenital heart condition, which initiated his shocking collapse. Despite his team the USC’s recent loss in a matchup, Bronny’s return to the roster with his pregame action has sparked a wave of excitement in the USC camp.
Bronny James spotted at shooting practice
The congenital heart condition that had previously caused LeBron James’ eldest son Bronny James to collapse during practice with his college team, seems to have been curable and Bronny is expected to take the floor soon. In a recent shooting practice at the USC, the young star was spotted taking some shots with clever moves.
Connor Morrissette recently reported that Bronny would not be playing for his team just yet but has been practicing shots in training. “Bronny James is getting some shots up pregame. He of course won’t play tonight, but that looks to me like someone who could play this season,” he wrote implying that Bronny is quite fit for the season, though not cleared to play immediately.
Bronny, who as of 2023 impressively averaged a team-high 14 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 1.8 steals per game for Sierra Canyon, will be looking to build upon his early achievements upon his return soon.
UC Irvine beat USC
Justin Hohn, who was among the UC Irvine’s team that couldn’t pull off an upset against a well ranked Southern California squad two years ago, had recently achieved it against USC. According to SportsCenter, UC Irvine edged out USC with a scoreline of 70-60, which gave them their first loss of the season.
John Hohn, the senior guard impressively scored 25 points against USC. The Anteaters have pulled down a ranked Pac-12 opponent on the road, after winning at Oregon by 13 points just last campaign. Hohn said, “It’s definitely rewarding to get wins like this, we’ve got a bunch of guys that can make plays and we all trust each other, too.”
The USC who managed to get 61-60 with 2:49 minutes left, were left stunned when the Anteaters scored their final 9 points, as Devin Tillis achieved a pair of free throws before hitting a 3-pointer from the corner.
However, the USC team played without the services of guards Boogie Ellis out with a right ankle sprain and Kobe Johnson out with left knee discomfort, had Isaiah Collier scored 23 points and Hornery with 17 points, which wasn’t enough to prevent the upset.
