De’Von Achane returns to bolster the Dolphins’ offense in Week 11 against Raiders

In a dream of starting the season with the storied quarterback Tom Brady, the Las Vegas Raiders had to kick off their season with Jimmy Garoppolo. Under his leadership, the team has been stumbling in many instances, while Josh McDaniels’ failure as head coach added more trouble for the LA team.

Following the sacking of McDaniels, the team has been vying to check all the boxes to strengthen their roster with a strong comeback story. While their interim head coach Antonio Pierce is searching for the needed adjustments for the team, the Miami Dolphins team have already strengthened their roster by activating a running back, in a concern for their upcoming battle.

Dolphins get offensive boost in De’Von Achane

The Dolphins activated their rookie running back De’von Achane from injured reserve on Saturday. The rookie player sustained a knee injury late in a Week 5 win over the New York Giants.

The injury forced the Dolphins to place the receiver’s name on injured reserve. After skipping four games due to this injury, Achane made his return to practice last week, yet the team kept their rookie as a limited participant.

For Tua Tagovailoa’s offense, De’Von Achane is a name with a combination of power; without him, the Dolphins could not even reach 100 yards twice in the past four games. Tagovailoa also could not hold himself to admit the assistance of the rookie player regarding their offense, labeling him as an “electric player”.

“We’ve all seen the things that he’s done for our offense while he’s been in. He’s an electric player. He’s phenomenal. He understands the game. He understands where he goes. He understands his assignment.”

After embarking on his NFL journey with the Dolphins, Achane racked up 460 yards and seven touchdowns in just four games.

Raiders Antonio Pierce leans on Super Bowl-winning coach for advice

The Raiders’ journey with McDaniels met an awkward end, with McDaniels sacking the head coach in the middle of the season, in spite of the fear of financial strain. The move came after their head coach’s trial to back him from the aggravated fans since the start of the season.

Nevertheless, with the end of McDaniels’ era, the Pierce dynasty has just begun. The move of the Raiders to shoulder Pierce with such a challenging task did not go wrong. A dominating win over the New York Jets let the team stretch their winning streak, and they had a wild celebration in the locker room.

In Week 11, the Raiders are scheduled to face the toughest test so far under the new head coach. For this reason, Pierce was inspired to consult with Tom Coughlin prior to the confrontation. According to CBS Sports, Pierce has looked to Coughlin for guidance on daily scheduling.

The Raiders new coach only has head coaching experience with Long Beach Poly High School in California. Though with the recent win against the Jets, the head coach collected a convincing 2-0 winning record, his schemes are not enough in his eyes to tackle the Dolphins.

With a 5-5 record, the Raiders are just two wins behind the Kansas City Chiefs. In contrast, the Dolphins are at the top of their division with a 6-3 record.

Do you think Pierce’s team can pull out an upset victory over the Dolphins?
