With the intention of achieving greatness, Jinder Mahal challenged Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. However, despite his best efforts, he was unable to secure victory against the tenacious Rollins.
The dramatic RAW encounter witnessed Rollins defending his championship against Mahal. Although the outcome of the event unfolded as predicted, concerns arose as Mahal was visibly holding his knee in the closing portions of the contest, causing fans to worry about the possibility of an injury.
Did Seth Rollins get injured on WWE RAW?
Despite it’s reduced scope—possibly because of travel and weather concerns—the most recent WWE RAW successfully built anticipation for the 2024 Royal Rumble. There were some exciting aspects to the show’s main event, which saw Seth Rollins defending his World Heavyweight Championship against Jinder Mahal.
World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins successfully fended off challenger Jinder Mahal to retain the belt in the main event. However, concerns arose when Rollins was observed favoring his knee in the match’s latter stages. Post the bout, he headed backstage alone, displaying a visible limp.
According to WWE insiders, he will undergo evaluation to determine the severity of the potential injury. Fans can finally breathe a sigh of relief as a trustworthy source later confirmed that Rollins was okay, despite their initial concerns.
Later Dave Meltzer from Wrestling Observer Radio noted, “I just know he’s getting an MRI and then we’ll find out. Basically, I was told that it could be something minor, could be something worse, we won’t know until the MRI result comes back.”
Seth Rollins’ history of knee problems
Whether it’s SummerSlam, Royal Rumble, or WrestleMania, Seth Rollins has always been a solid performer for WWE events, thanks to his top-tier in-ring abilities. Despite his stellar record, Rollins has struggled with injuries, most notably a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), medial collateral ligament (MCL), and medial meniscus in 2015.
In a similar fashion to his two knee injuries in 2015, he has been grappling with knee troubles again recently without missing any time in the ring. In 2015, he experienced tremendous success thanks to this partnership, but his ascent was abruptly halted by a serious knee injury. The following year, at WrestleMania 32, Rollins was unable to compete due to the injury.
A high-profile bout between Rollins and CM Punk, after their furious exchanges and confrontation at Survivor Series, might be the main event of night 1 at WrestleMania 40.
