Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill sheds light on fumble against Chiefs: “It’s Cedrick Wilson’s fault”

Tyreek Hill, arguably one of the fastest WRs to ever step on a football pitch has created a position of dominance and authority over the rest of the league with his performances against top opposition. The standards he set for himself week-in-week-out are something to behold and the results speak for themselves.

However, the Dolphins’ WR had a night to forget out in Germany against the Kansas City Chiefs when it was his mistake that cost their team a shot at victory. After the game, Tyreek Hill also had a hilarious take on proceedings that left netizens reeling.

Tyreek Hill jokingly blames Cedrick Wilson

Last Sunday, the Miami Dolphins faced off against the Kansas City Chiefs in what turned out to be a closely contested affair for all four quarters. The Chiefs came away with the win, but the tide could’ve easily turned in favor of the Dolphins had Tyreek Hill not fumbled the ball. To rub salt in his wounds, the Chiefs returned the costly fumble for an eventual touchdown.

In his own “It Needed To Be Said” podcast, Hill reflected on the fumble and how it affected the entire game. He said, “We all know what happened, it is what it is. It’s a very touchy situation man. Because I don’t point fingers at nobody. At the end the end of the day, I got to hold on to the ball. I don’t care if the man is not blocked. That’s my mindset.”

Later on in the podcast, Tyreek Hill also blamed his teammate Cedric Wilson for the mistake. He said, “It’s Cedric Wilson’s fault though. Nah, let me stop.” This hilarious interaction made netizens laugh as one commented, “I think he meant to say it was Smythe’s fault lol.”

Tyreek Hill’s performance against Chiefs

In the post-game chat with media representatives, Tyreek Hill talked about the game and specifically about the fumble. He said, “They played two-man coverage, and there was a guy that was unblocked, and he came free as soon as I caught it. And I didn’t even get a chance to make a move, you know? And that’s the explanation I got for you. So they did a good job.”

However, this specific mistake actually brought on a lot of backlash against Tyreek Hill and his teammate Tua Tagovailoa, QB for the Miami Dolphins.

On facing his former team, the Kansas City Chiefs, he said, “I had a lot of fun today, man. That’s what football is about. I feel like this is football’s new rivalry. So it was a fun day to play football in a different location, so I had a blast.”

“I think I played overall pretty well. Some tight-window throws and those guys did a great job of making it hard on me all day,” Hill said. “So they did a great job.”

Tyreek Hill had an overall good game against his former franchise. He got hold of 10 catches and had 62 receiving yards to his name after the match. The Dolphins will face the Las Vegas Raiders next in their NFL Week 11 fixture.
