Draymond Green admits foul on Chet Holmgren cost the Warriors a victory against OKC Thunder: “I f*cked that off”

Warriors’ Draymond Green has taken accountability for the loss of the Dubs at the hands of the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Warriors had to bite down their disappointment as they lost to the OKC in a match that looked to be another Bay area win.

The key player of the Dubs, Draymond Green who is often known to make aggressive plays addressed the mistake he made which possibly cost his team the match. He expressed his thoughts in a post-game interview where he was furious and frustrated with the incident.

Draymond Green takes accountability for costly mistake

The Golden State Warriors faced the Oklahoma City Thunder on Friday night in a thrilling match. Both teams gave each other tough competition but the Dubs had an upper hand and were the favorites to win the match with a 3-point lead in the final moments of the game. However, a foul by Draymond Green on Chet Holmgren changed the game.

With only eight seconds left on the clock, Chet got an opportunity to shoot a 3-pointer but was blocked by Draymond. The referee called a foul on that block and awarded three free throws. The Thunder’s rookie made all three points and forced the game to overtime where the Dubs lost control of the game and ultimately lost.

In a post-game interview, Draymond Green took accountability for that mistake and expressed his thoughts on the incident.

“So I was very hypersensitive to it like I got a foul, you do not want them to get a 3. I thought I got him before he started his motion upward… I saw a replay, too, and it was close. Regardless of whether I did or did not do it, if it was close, they were going to go with a call on the floor.”

“The call on the floor is three shots … I f****d that off. That is a mistake that a young guy should make, not a guy in his twelfth year.

The OKC established a 10-point lead in just two minutes after getting into overtime but a close effort by the Warriors and their ace Stephen Curry cut the lead short to just two points. However, the Thunder successfully held on to the lead and walked away as victors.

Stephen Curry led the scoring chart for the Warriors with 34 points and 10 crucial points in overtime. The turnovers were the deadly blow for the Dubs in this game as they were unable to stop them. Additionally, an unlucky foul by Draymond Green on Chet Holmgreen changed the game as it forced an almost-won game for the Dubs to overtime.
