The Golden State Warriors star, Draymond Green, recently expressed his views on the Minnesota Timberwolves star, Anthony Edwards, on his podcast “The Draymond Green Show.”

Draymond Green slams Anthony Edwards

The Warriors star Draymond Green slammed Anthony Edwards for his behavior in the NBA All-Star games. He criticized the Wolves star for not taking the honor of playing in the All-Star games seriously. The All-Star weekend is arguably the most awaited event in the NBA where the fans can witness the top players in the league team up and battle against each other.

Green highlighted that the title of an All-Star MVP is one of the most sought-after honors in the NBA and Anthony Edwards displaying no desire to go after it was a bit weird. “A big deal for the guys on their resumes is an All-Star Game MVP title. I do not understand why a young Anthony Edwards would not want his name sketched in stone next to guys who have it,” said Draymond. These comments came after Anthony Edwards issued a statement saying that he didn’t want to compete in the game as it was a break.

Will Anthony Edwards be the face of NBA?

Draymond also addressed the possibility of Anthony Edwards becoming the face of the NBA in the future. He highlighted that many people already have high expectations from him and have accepted him as the next face of the league. Even LeBron James named Anthony and another player as potential candidates to take the torch from him, Curry, and KD after they retired.

“To play defense backwards. To shoot left-handed threes, It seemed a little outlandish to me. I thought it was a little crazy and a little disheartening. It is just because of who he really is and who we all think he is going to be for this league. Being the face of the NBA also means being a steward of the game,” said Green on his podcast.

Green criticized the Wolves star for not being serious and also revealed how many people think he is the next big thing in the NBA and would have to bear the responsibility to carry the league forward after the veterans call it a day.
