Patrick Beverley, a veteran point guard who is set to play for the Philadelphia 76ers this season, has had stints with five NBA franchises throughout his professional career but is yet to secure a championship. Despite his commitment to displaying his skills on the court, he still manages to find time for trash-talking.
Recently, Patrick Beverley made an appearance on the ‘Actually Me’ segment, going undercover to react to fans’ discussions, and the topic of NBA trash talkers came up. During this segment, Patrick Beverley provided his own top five list, which naturally included himself.
Patrick Beverley unveils NBA’s top trash talkers
The ‘Actually Me’ segment had a surprise guest in Patrick Beverly as he made an appearance for GQ recently. During the show, fans requested Patrick Beverly to make a list his top NBA trash talkers, he provided the list and didn’t fail to include himself.
According to a video posted on YouTube by GQ Sports, there was a question “Who are the biggest trash talkers in the NBA? Patrick Beverley responded, “Draymond for sure. Kevin Durant for sure…..I’m definitely somewhere up there. Russ is up there. Low key, Luka Doncic. Low key as hell.” Mavericks star Luka Doncic still finds himself on Patrick’s list even if he doesn’t have a great reputation as the others as a trash talker. Patrick Beverley has a well-earned reputation for trash-talking, like the memorable instance when he called Russell Westbrook trash.”
Pat Bev hits LeBron with ‘too small’ celebration
Patrick Beverly is yet to win an NBA championship, but he’s undoubtedly a top talent. He displayed his skills against LeBron James in a game against the Lakers. According to a video posted on YouTube by Chaz NBA, Patrick was seen making the “too small” celebration after beating James with his skills.
The Lakers fans were excited to see LeBron return after a lengthy injury absence, but the legend’s first games were spoiled by Patrick Beverly who scored a baby hook over LeBron in the fourth quarter and crouched and lowered his hand, which is the universal sign in the NBA that a player is too small. He relished every moment as his Chicago Bull team delivered a 118-108 defeat to the Lakers, dampening LeBron James’ comeback after nearly a month on the sidelines due to a foot injury.
Patrick Beverley played a pivotal role in his team’s victory against the Lakers. Standing at 6-foot-2 compared to James’ 6-9, his height didn’t deter him from showcasing his skills against the legend. In that game, he contributed with 10 points and 5 assists, and when asked about his ‘too small’ celebration at James, he calmly explained, ‘I do it to everybody. I was just having fun, getting lost in the game.’
As Patrick Beverley continues to pursue his first championship, one might wonder if his combination of trash-talking and skills could help him achieve it. Share your thoughts in the comments section.
