Drew McIntyre hopes to give dad WWE belt after family “sacrifice” led to WrestleMania 40 title showdown

Drew McIntyre is gearing up for what he considers the biggest battle of his life at WrestleMania 40. While it might appear as just another wrestling match to some, the Scottish Warrior views it as the culmination of a commitment he made long ago.

However, pursuing this dream has required him to sacrifice precious time with his loved ones and miss out on significant moments. Nevertheless, McIntyre is determined to leave no stone unturned in his quest to capture the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania.

WWE star Drew McIntyre discusses his family’s sacrifices

Hailing from Scotland, Drew McIntyre’s childhood dreams revolved around one thing: WrestleMania. However, it was not an easy journey for him to get to WWE WrestleMania. His family made big sacrifices to help him pursue his wrestling dreams. Particularly, his training took priority over his father’s ambitions. In a recent interview with SHAK Wrestling, McIntyre opened up about the sacrifices he and his family made to reach this position.

McIntyre believed that by moving away from home, missing family events, and focusing on his wrestling profession, he was the only one making the sacrifices. However, he has no idea that his friends and family have made the sacrifices all along, not himself.

McIntyre said, “I got to the point where I realized this is their sacrifice. They gave up their son, their nephew, their brother, and their uncle has missed so many important events because he’s chasing his dream, and they encouraged me to chase my dream, and I really started wising up to that and felt really guilty.”

With years of hard work and devotion under his name, the 38-year-old finally gets his chance to win the WWE Championship at WrestleMania. For him, winning the championship this time is very important, particularly because he wants to dedicate it to his father.

While expressing his wish about the title, he added, “I want to give my dad that title. I want to put it in his hands and say, ‘Here it is. This was what it was all about since I was five years old.”

So, Drew is embracing every chance to remind Seth Rollins and CM Punk that the title legitimately belongs to him, not anybody else’s. He’s also revealed who he enjoys trolling the most.

The transformation of Drew McIntyre is a phenomenon that wrestling fans are watching as WrestleMania 40 comes closer. The Scottish Psychopath is exhibiting his most compelling heel run to date as he chases the WWE Heavyweight championship at the upcoming grand PLE event. In an interview with CBS Sports’ Shakiel Mahjouri, McIntyre was asked to choose between CM Punk and Seth Rollins as the person he likes abusing the most. He answered, “I guess Punk just because of personal feelings, and it’s extra hilarious. But Seth is pretty easy, he does get offended pretty easily, so I enjoy poking at him!”

Oh, hi, this is Md Robin Ahmed, a WWE fan and I everyday go through a slew of popular WWE stories on Sportszion. Watching Big Show's Showstopper was the beginning of my passion for WWE, though I have to say that his Chokeslam is not one of my favorite moves. Over time, my love for professional wrestling has intensified, mostly due to the Shield, and my all-time favorite wrestler in WWE is Big Dog. I would give everything to be able to be within a few feet of him to witness his iconic Superman Punch and Spear. My major is engineering, but I'm most happy when I'm doing something artistic that doesn't put me under any pressure. Watching them wrestle and discuss their matches is always fun for me. And I've finally discovered a career that gives me fun since it allows me to with my dream heroes lifestyle. So, Welcome! I'd love to hear from you on LinkedIn and Facebook.
