CM Punk, after his unexpected return to WWE, had his first match in 10 years against the former North American Champion Dominik Mysterio in the WWE Live Holiday Tour in Madison Square Garden. Punk was able to hit Go To Sleep and pin Dominik to win the match.

Drew McIntyre comments on CM Punk’s MSG match

Drew McIntyre posted a video on social media and gave his opinion about CM Punk’s match in the MSG against Dominik. McIntyre said the following on his Tik Tok, “Punk’s first match in 10 years, and to be honest, you know he looked pretty good. I was watching through the curtain. It looked like fans were excited to see him.”

He also added, “He looked pretty good in the ring against Dominik Mysterio, who’s no slouch, but we’ll see how Punk does against a McIntyre or Rollins. He seems to have forgot his gear. He was wrestling in undertights, so he looks pretty stupid. But yeah, looks like he hasn’t missed a step to be honest.”

McIntyre appreciated Punk’s performance in the match and also wished to see Punk in a match with WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins. McIntyre also made a comment about Punk’s gear in the match by calling Punk’s look stupid. There are rumors speculating that Punk will face Rollins at WrestleMania 40. If WWE adds McIntyre to this feud, it will be interesting to watch.

Drew McIntyre checks off another of his WWE goals

On the same night, Drew McIntyre faced Seth Rollins in a singles match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. McIntyre was trying to hit the Claymore, but Rollins took the advantage and hit a Curb Stomp and a Pedigree to win the match.

After his loss against Seth Rollins at the WWE live event, McIntyre went on social media and added a list of his next targets in the WWE. McIntyre added photos of him from the live event. McIntyre’s next target is to win the 30 man Royal Rumble match and the main event WrestleMania 40. He also added that he was becoming the WWE Champion and Closing out the MSG chapter.

Last week, on Monday night RAW General Manager Adam Pearce announced that McIntyre would challenge Rollins for the WWE Championship on January 1, 2024, of the WWE RAW Day 1 episode. For the third time, McIntyre is set to face Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at next week’s WWE Day 1 event.

Previously, Cody Rhodes confirmed his entry in the Royal Rumble match, followed by CM Punk, who also aims to win the Rumble and main event WrestleMania. McIntyre’s addition to the Rumble Rumble match has increased the expectation among the fans and added hype to WrestleMania 40.
