Recently, especially after WrestleMania 40, Drew McIntyre’s conflict with CM Punk has quickly grown into one of the hottest and most intense in new WWE history. Their increasing hostility has already riveted audiences and produced nail-biting moments on screen. But the Scottish Warrior seems to have taken the rivalry so seriously that he’s even made threats against Punk’s supporters.
When Drew McIntyre saw that certain fans were chanting for his adversary, CM Punk, at a recent WWE live event, he wasted no time getting back at them. He was blunt and outspoken in his criticism of CM Punk, raising doubts about the legitimacy of Punk’s injury that kept him out of the ring. Poking fun at CM Punk supporters and those who attempted to provoke him with gestures was the first part of McIntyre’s remarks.
Even, he didn’t hesitate to send them a strong warning about what would happen. As Ringsidenews transcribed, the former heavyweight champion said, “You guys think you’re cool, you think you’re clever wearing a CM Punk shirt, trying to flip off Drew McIntyre, even though if you’re right in my face I’d drop you like the piece of crap you are.”
Drew McIntyre is in an unusual situation right now since two of his main competitors, CM Punk and Seth Rollins, are out with injuries. It has come to light that McIntyre has also sustained injuries, but that hasn’t stopped him from wrestling despite suffering.
Drew McIntyre got himself into WWE’s injury list
The way McIntyre has recently dressed makes it clear that he has an elbow injury. He reportedly sustained it during WrestleMania XL but hasn’t taken any time off, continuing to wrestle in shows day after day. Mike Johnson of PWInsider reports that McIntyre has a severely hyperextended elbow.
Despite the injury, he’s still on the WWE UK Tour and working hard to get through the pain. Fans want him to win the Heavyweight Championship at Clash at the Castle in Glasgow, but for that to happen, he’ll need to renew his contract with WWE.
