Drew McIntyre taunts Cody Rhodes after win at WWE Raw with help from The Bloodline: “Better luck next time”

WWE superstar Drew McIntyre has been engaged in a feud with the biggest babyfaces of the company, claiming that he is the best among them.

In one of his recent fights on Monday Night Raw, McIntyre went up against Cody Rhodes, who had won the Royal Rumble consecutively. It turned out to be one of the best matches of McIntyre’s career, where he not only emerged victorious but also joined Roman Reigns in setting a huge milestone.

During the latest episode of Monday Night Raw, Drew McIntyre and Cody Rhodes fought each other in a one-on-one match. The WWE Raw General Manager, Adam Pearce, announced before the show that the match would kick off the event. Both Drew and Cody put up a tough fight and had moments of momentum throughout the match.

The American Nightmare was very close to winning, but he was distracted by Jimmy Uso, which allowed Solo Sikoa to interfere by delivering a Samoan Spike to Cody when the referee was distracted. Drew then took advantage of the situation and delivered a Claymore to win the match. This was Rhodes’ third defeat in a singles match since his return in 2022.

Drew has recently become the second person to pin Cody after Roman Reigns, following his return to wrestling. Interestingly, Solo Sikoa played a significant role in both matches, leading to Cody’s losses. McIntyre reacted to his win by comparing both sequences. He said, “No chicken this time, Cody. Just your tears. It was a hell of a fight, better luck next time.”

The last time Cody Rhodes was pinned was during WrestleMania 39 Night 2, where Roman Reigns defeated Rhodes by pinfall to retain the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, thanks to a Samoan Spike from Solo Sikoa.

Cody Rhodes was set to face his former ally, Drew McIntyre, who claimed that he saved the people’s WrestleMania this year.

The match between the former WWE tag team champions was a thrilling and evenly matched contest within the confines of the squared circle. The action was so exciting to watch that the crowd at the Honda Center started a chant of ‘This is Awesome.’ However, the ending of the match saw Rhodes being defeated due to interference from two members of The Rock and Roman Reigns’ Bloodline. As Cody was about to pin McIntyre, Jimmy Uso appeared to distract him, ultimately leading to Rhodes’ defeat.

During the fight, Cody managed to avoid an attack from his opponent. Meanwhile, an official was attempting to remove Jimmy from the premises. Suddenly, Solo emerged from the other side wearing a black hood. He then planted a Samoan Spike on Cody’s throat, similar to the incident that occurred during last year’s WrestleMania. This interference gave McIntyre the opportunity he needed to execute a powerful Claymore Kick, which resulted in him pinning Cody’s shoulders to the mat and securing the victory.
