Doc Rivers recently revealed that he chose the Milwaukee Bucks even though he was offered the HC position in two other teams. Ever since he joined the Bucks as the head coach in late January, he has been facing a lot of criticisms regarding his performance.
Among the critics, was a former NBA player JJ Redick who played under the NBA All-Star coach for four seasons. Reddick called out Rivers for not taking accountability, finding excuses and blaming others for a loss which created a lot of drama. Doc Rivers seemingly repeats the same offence but this time he throws Joel Embiid under the bus.
Doc Rivers talks on Joel Embiid’s playoffs performance
Doc Rivers continues to be in the headlines now for raising questions about the Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid. When Doc was asked about last year’s playoffs with his former team Sixers right before the regular season game with them, Doc said that though they were dominant till the first five games, the last two games did not work as per plan.
Questioning the Cameroonian star’s health back then, Rivers said, “I thought Game 6 was our game. I didn’t think Joel got the ball enough, and trust me, [the gameplan] was for him to get it. And he didn’t get it. I don’t know how healthy he was. But as I told you guys a hundred times, you put yourself in those positions, winning is hard. You’re gonna win some of them and you’re not gonna win some of them.”

He revealed Embiid not getting enough balls cost them the playoffs where they lost to the Boston Celtics by 4-3.
Meanwhile, the Bucks won their last game of the NBA regular season against the Sixers by 119-98.
Fans troll Doc Rivers for taking zero responsibility
Rivers’ Bucks faced off against Sixers where the 62-year-old got the last laugh on Sunday. But Rivers made sure to leave something on the Sixers fans as he dissected Joel Embiid’s impact on the team’s playoff performance last season.
After his comment on Joel Embiid, the NBA community mocked the 62-year-old coach on X (formerly Twitter). Here are some of the reactions of the fans:
