During an interview for a movie promotion with co-star Emily Blunt, ‘The People’s Champion’ poked fun at football icon Cristiano Ronaldo. Although it was surprising and hurtful for some fans at first, Rock instantly rectified his mistake by claiming it was a joke and expressed his admiration for the legend.

Dwayne Johnson is currently busy with WWE’s creative sector alongside Chief Operating Officer, Triple-H. The Rock is a board member at TKO Group Holdings, and now he wants to make the sport as great as possible.
During a promotion for ‘Jungle Cruise,’ Johnson was seen in an interview in 2021. During the interview, Rock took a jab at the sports icon Cristiano Ronaldo. He was asked about his thoughts on the football star, to which he said, “Oh my God! He’s been paying for his followers for years.” Emily Blunt, who was alongside the WWE star, looked shocked at his remark and just before the host could say anything, Rock said that he was joking and he admired the football superstar.
The Rock once compared Ronaldo with a gangster
Back in 2017, an old picture of the Rock was going viral on social media. His iconic picture saw him dressed in a black t-shirt and jeans. Some fans took this photo and compared it to Ronaldo wearing the same dress code.
‘The Great One’ saw the post and expressed his feelings on Twitter, saying, “One looks like a gangster with a $1million bucks worth of jewelry on and the other one looks like the buff lunch lady with a fanny pack containing 7 scratch off tickets.”
