In the closing moments of the episode, The Great One attacked Cody Rhodes, leaving him beaten in the parking lot. The show ended with The Rock standing over his opponent, who was left grounded.

Why did The Rock brutally assault Cody Rhodes backstage?
During the latest episode of WWE SmackDown, Paul Heyman revealed the mastermind behind The Rock’s recent assault on Cody Rhodes. After a whispered exchange between The Rock and Rhodes during this week’s WWE Raw, fans were left in suspense, unsure of what was about to unfold.
However, during the closing stages of the show, The Final Boss launched a brutal assault on Rhodes backstage, leaving him bloodied. This turned out to be one of the most memorable segments in recent history.
During this week’s episode of SmackDown, Paul Heyman revealed that it was The Head of the Table, Roman Reigns, who was behind the attack and had ordered The Great One to take out The American Nightmare.
