Eagles QB Jalen Hurts opens up on the heated sideline exchange with AJ Brown during the Vikings game: “I have no worry about him”

The defending NFC champion Philadelphia Eagles have maintained their legacy, starting the season with a 2–0 record. Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts, who has garnered fame as the NFL MVP runner-up, delivered an average performance as his team defeated the Minnesota Vikings in their Week-2 game.

Furthermore, the Eagles’ victorious night witnessed a heated sideline exchange between Hurts and his teammate A.J. Brown, prompting the Eagles’ quarterback to address and resolve any lingering issues between them after the game.

Before entering the NFL, Jalen Hurts and A.J. Brown’s friendship forged a strong bond as they remained in touch throughout their senior years. However, the Eagles’ most recent game cast some doubt on their longstanding friendship when the two engaged in a heated dispute over their involvement in the team’s offense during the fourth quarter.

Coach Nick Sirianni eventually intervened to separate the two players. The 25-year-old was questioned by the media about the disagreement after the victorious night. In response to such inquiries, Jalen Hurts gave a dismissive nod, stating that his primary goal is to help the team win. Hurts also emphasized that, apart from their desire to contribute, there is no conflict between them, describing Brown as ‘a great player, a great teammate, a great friend.’

“I think everybody wants to make plays and everybody wants to contribute. I have no worry about him, he’s a great player, a great teammate, a great friend, and we’ll do anything and everything to win,” said Hurts.

In his team’s victory over the Vikings, Brown produced four of the team’s 18 receptions but only had 29 yards and no touchdowns while Hurts rushed for two 1-yard scores and delivered a 63-yard touchdown pass to DeVonta Smith.

NFL community reacts to Jalen Hurts AJ Brown statement

After the game, the NFL community responded positively to the argument between the Eagles’ star players. Dov Kleiman highlighted their off-field friendship in his article, amusing several fans who found it remarkable that they remained close despite attending rival schools.

“Y’all obviously don’t know that Jalen and AJ used to train together during their college days. Constantly posting stories together even when they were at rival schools,” one netizen commented.

The Eagles supporters didn’t criticize the brawl as they saw it as Jalen Hurts’ effort to help the team.

“When the adrenaline gets going, people act rash. If it was a common thing, I would be worried. It’s just two guys who want to win (and get paid) playing with their hearts on their sleeves”.

The 2022 Second Team All-Pro received appreciation from many NFL fans for his dedication to leading the team while taking on a lot of responsibility on his shoulders.

“Nothing Jalen won’t smooth out immediately. When you have a natural born leader like Jalen, this little things brush right off his (and the team’s) shoulders. Eagles got themselves a good one.”
