Eddie Hearn pleads Nate Diaz not to ‘choke’ him out after a UFC veteran threatens to beat his ‘fighters a**es’

Nate Diaz’s venture into boxing against Jake Paul concluded with a loss at the Dallas American Airlines Center earlier in August. Following this, the UFC veteran seemed to engage in a verbal altercation with Eddie Hearn.

Undoubtedly Eddie, a prominent figure in today’s boxing landscape, holds the position of Chairman at Matchroom Sports. The Briton openly shared his genuine thoughts on the Paul-Diaz bout, leading to a heated exchange of words between him and Diaz.

Eddie Hearn urges UFC veteran Nate Diaz not to choke him

During a recent interview on the MMA Hour, Hearn stated that he found the fight’s quality to be subpar. According to Eddie, since Nate wasn’t defeated by The Problem Child, it indicated that Paul lacked the capability to break down a fighter, control the ring, and secure a stoppage.

“It was awful. Don’t get me wrong, the event was unbelievable. You did a great job. Brilliant. But when you’re talking about MMA like the back of your hand. I know boxing like the back of my hand.” Eddie said.

Diaz didn’t take Eddie’s criticisms lightly, prompting Eddie to clarify his stance during a subsequent interview with Boxing Social. The boxing promoter mentioned that he’s an admirer of Nate.

“If Nate Diaz does see me, please don’t choke me out. Very scary, probably more scary than John Fury. Out of ten, ten being most scared, twelve. They said what do you think of Jake Paul vs Nate Diaz and I said, as an event, unbelievable. But, in terms of the boxing quality, really poor,” Hearn said to Boxing Social.

The Matchroom Sports founder emphasized as he promotes the best pound-for-pound boxers globally, he isn’t discrediting Diaz’s boxing skills. Eddie acknowledged that Diaz is indeed a proficient boxer, but he believes Diaz’s boxing ability doesn’t quite match the standards of boxing.

Why did Nate Diaz viciously attack boxing promoter Eddie Hearn?

The former UFC fighter apparently didn’t quite like Eddie’s opinion and ended up viciously attacking the promoter. The MMA veteran warned Eddie to refrain from mentioning his name which triggered a confrontation between Nate and Eddie.

“Eddie Hearn I’ll beat all [your] fighters asses. Lightweight, middleweight, heavyweights, any weight, all of them will get f*—– up.” Nate said.

Diaz’s next actions are still unclear, but The Problem Child has presented an intriguing offer to Nate, proposing a lucrative showdown in the realm of MMA. The purse lies in a significant $10 million reward.
