Eden Hazard names the ‘most talented player’ he played with, who is not someone many would’ve expected

Eden Hazard is one of the best soccer players of the last decade, and a true Premier League legend. Though the end of his career did not reflect his career well, with an early retirement done,. However, fans still remember him for the brilliant performances he had during his long tenure at Chelsea.

He recently created quite a stir with some comments about Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, but has now clarified that he has a different GOAT.

Eden Hazard labels former Chelsea teammate as ‘by far number one’

Eden Hazard is remembered for the beautiful soccer he used to play, with dribbles and feints making him the best, according to many. However, he believes that there was one more talented player than him.

In the ObiOne podcast, he was asked who was the most talented player he saw. He chose a surprising name in Gael Kakuta, “Most talented player I’ve played alongside? Gaël Kakuta. The only one I was saying ‘wow’ was Gael Kakuta.”

“You asked me talent. Kakuta, by, far number one. Talent. I mean, talent. Wow. You know I played against him a lot because I used to play at Lille, he was playing in Lens. In the north of France that’s a derby.”

Kakuta did have a bright future, and he used to play in France during the same time as the ascension of Eden Hazard. He moved to Chelsea even before the Belgian in 2007, but only played 6 games for the Blues, while the latter will become a legend there. He was loaned for the next 6 years to various clubs in Europe, and is currently in Ligue 2. He never reached his full potential, unlike Hazard, who also did not reach his potential due to a reason he attributed himself.

Hazard snubs both Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo in GOAT debate

The most common question in soccer is who is the GOAT of the sport, Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo. Even Hazard had to answer this question when pressed, but he had quite a different answer. The Belgian is himself one of the best players of the last decade and has played against both of the superstars on multiple occasions. He has praised both of them on several occasions.

He chose Messi as the superior of the two. He explained his choice between the two rivals, “For me Messi is the one. Messi is the one if you talk about football. But then people they have different opinions on that though, Ronaldo is the goat to score goals and to bring trophies to the team.”

But Hazard clarified that the one and only GOAT was French icon Zinedine Zidane, “Me, I am more my style of play is Messi, but for me the greatest is Zidane.” Zidane is considered one of the best soccer players ever, having won the Champions League and the World Cup. He is considered a legend for Juventus, Real Madrid and France.

Eden Hazard is now enjoying his retirement, while both Messi and Ronaldo are still bossing it for their respective clubs.
