Max Verstappen and Red Bull have been an unstoppable force throughout the season, as other competitors can’t find any answer to the sheer pace set by the RB19 in Max’s hands. A recent example was the victory of Max Verstappen in the Las Vegas GP, which he acclaimed even after suffering from a time penalty and crash damage while fighting Charles Leclerc at the same time.
Max Verstappen has been a huge part of Red Bull’s success this season and despite all the criticisms that may claim it was only because of the car, many F1 greats believe that Max Verstappen is the one who made Red Bull successful not the other way around.
Red Bull’s winning streak hinges on Verstappen’s care for Adrian Newey
Adrian Newey is considered the mastermind behind the winning circus of Red Bull. The aerodynamicist has perfected the art of ground effects, ever since 2022 regulations came into play. The way he has designed cars over the years have proved much useful for his teams and almost all of his teams have won a championship or a grand prix victory.
There were talks about Adrian Newey retiring but the F1 great dismissed any such rumors expressing his desire to continue forth in Formula 1 and to goon till he is of no use to the team. Ex-driver and GP winner Ralf Schumacher took note of Adrian’s words and went on to ask Max Verstappen about taking care of Newey if he wants to win further. “The other question is: does he always have such a good car? I think next year. Max has to take good care of Adrian Newey. As long as he does, they can continue this.”
His concerns arose from the fact that rivals have been able to catch up to Red Bull recently and the situation seems concerning for Red Bull’s dominance in 2024.
When did Newey join Red Bull?
Adrian Newey has moved to Red Bull ever since their first season in Formula 1 in 2006. Newey has been a constant supporter and their chief technical officer for more than a decade, giving them entire seasons of dominance and six constructor championships. Adrian Newey was the driving force behind Red Bull’s rise to power in 2021 and its continued dominance until 2023.
Adrian Newey and Max Verstappen share a good relationship and Verstappen seems to be the perfect driver for Newey’s ‘rocket-ships’ making the most of every situation. Adrian Newey is one of the best engineers in Formula 1 and Max Verstappen would want him to stay in the Red Bull camp a little while longer if he wants to stay unbeatable in Formula 1.
