The NBA community including George Karl was recently shocked with the announcement of the blockbuster three team deal between the Portland Trail Blazers, the Milwaukee Bucks and the Phoenix Suns. The deal saw big names like Damian Lillard, Deandre Ayton and Jrue Holiday change teams along with some other players.
Damian Lillard ended up joining forces with Giannis Antetokounmpo at the Milwaukee Bucks. Lillard once told in an interview that he believed Giannis is the player that could help him win a ring. However, the former head coach of the Milwaukee Bucks believes that Jrue Holiday might be a better playoffs player than Damian Lillard.
Karl’s opinion of Damian Lillard vs. Jure Holiday
The former head coach of the Milwaukee Bucks, George Karl recently shared his opinion on the epic three team trade. In his opinion Jrue Holiday is a better player than Dame when it comes to the NBA playoffs. He commented, “I think Lillard probably makes them more exciting, more explosive. But to be honest with you, in the playoffs, Holiday might be better than Lillard.”
Holiday and Lillard are both All-Star caliber players who can influence games and be the point of difference in winning games. Jrue is more of a defensive minded point guard with good scoring and passing ability. He is also one of the best perimeter defending players in the league who can also collect rebounds.
On the other hand, Lillard is a player with just the opposite style to Holiday. He is a mostly an offensive point guard with exceptional scoring ability and passing skills but falls short when it comes to defending.

The fans had a warm reaction to George Karl’s comments, as they agreed with the former Bucks head coach for his comments and supported him against other fans who had an opposite reaction to his opinion.
